Trey Hardy started his week with a world-beating Marlin release, but on day two the fish weren’t as cooperative as they had to settle for a handful of Bonitas and White Tunas.
Still you got to appreciate the big smiles and fun that comes along with with catching fish regardless of size.
The legendary Dan Johnson rejoined the Wanderer for a billfish hunt on February 27, and along with his daughter Delaney Johnson scored a big Blue Marlin backed up by a nice Sailfish.
This monster weighs well over 300lbs. and is certainly a breathtaking achievement.
Delaney’s Sailfish was no slouch either, putting up a big fight on the way to a safe release.
Our new friend Chris Ravenscroft had a wildly productive half day with Captain William reporting bunches of badass Sailfish releases.
In the second hour of the trip they pulled of a Double Sailfish release.
The hardest fighting fish of the day was this late-morning monster:
FishingNosara Hall of Famer George Shipley was one of the Explorer‘s first clients, fishing on the super panga in February 2011 and posting the boat’s first ever Double Sailfish release.
He returned on the 25th and added another sweet Sailfish release to his ever-growing scorecard.
Joe Goins’ group nabbed a world-class Marlin with Captain William on February 24.
This monster put on an above-the-water acrobatic display as the mighty flagship fought her all the way to a safe release.

Our old friend Joe Goins gave up on the snowy Northeast weather in favor of a full week of hot fishing with Captain William in late February.
From the 20th to the 24th Mr. Goins and his family fished everyday for eight hours per day; that’s some serious fishing!
This small Striped Marlin fought just as fiercely as its full grown brothers, but the mighty Wanderer was up to the task.
There was plenty of meat for the dinner table as well, thanks to this nice Dorado.
Still the target of the week was big billfish, and Captain William did not disappoint.
They closed out the week with another juvenile Striped Marlin release.

Captain David’s performance this month has smashed the boat record, and on February 24 he continued his dominance with four Groupers caught and a Sailfish release with client Mike Nobles.
Our new friend Ben Smith brought his two sons along for a freewheeling afternoon of fun on the 23rd, punctuated by a big stack of filets.
This Yellowfin Tuna and Cubera Snapper yield two of the most desirable meats in all of fishing.

The Discoverer struck again on the 23rd with John Difillipo’s group reporting two nice Sailfish releases backed up by a big Dorado:
