Garza Bay was rocked by a unusual swell event on July 6, which meant we had to pull all the boats from the water and wait for the waves to calm down.

Florida anglers Ken Cox and John Benton had to wait a day to kick-off their fishing expedition, but once the swell passed we were back on the water!

They got off to a quick start with a nice Sailfish release on July 7.

Also check out this wonderful Roosterfish release:

They followed up with some nice Yella Fellas for the ice box. “Just ate a pound of raw tuna. Like eatin butter,” said John. “Awesomest day of fishing ever.”

Things boiled over on July 9 when a MASSIVE Marlin hit the baits and put on a fireworks show for Ken Cox.

While Chuck and Rick were battling two Marlins over on the Wanderer, the rest of the Good Doctors put in big work on the battleship Discoverer. The highlight was this MASSIVE Black Marlin which took both Mate Keven and Mate Fico to subdue.

The followed-up with a nice Sailfish release and a couple of tasty Yellowfin Tunas.

Great work by Captain David on another legend-building performance.

Earth-Shattering moment on the Wanderer today as the Good Doctors pulled off a simultaneous Double Marlin Release! We have pulled off several Double Sailfish releases in the past and a few memorable Marlin/Sailfish doubles, but this marked the first true Double Marlin release of the season so far.

To describe the moment of the strike as ‘chaotic’ is an understatement; the skill of Captain William to keep these high-flying monsters from getting tangled only trumps First Mate Alex’ fish-handling skills.

Wrangling 1000+lbs. of angry billfish at once is no small feat, but we have always said that the Wanderer is known for defying expectations.

Amazing work by the flagship!

Wayne Hopkins snagged a legendary Blue Marlin release on June 12 with the mighty Wanderer.

Wayne has fished out of Garza for years, first appearing in our fishing report in 2010 with a nice Sailfish release.

Clearly this massive Marlin is a new high-water mark for Mr. Hopkins. Great work by Captain William and First Mate Alex on this wonderful release!

Captain David has brought his decades of fish-finding skills to the new battleship, and the results have been immediate and astounding. On May 28 he locked up two big bad billfish for his clients.

Mate Kevin released this Sailfish at 10:30am (above) and scored a nice Blue Marlin just after 1pm.

The Discoverer has come out of the gate like a thoroughbred and we can’t wait to see more multiple Marlin mania from the battleship.

William Christian Flanagan and his boys hit the water hard on May 26 with a legendary performance on the mighty Wanderer.

Captain William took the flagship offshore where a huge Black Marlin hit the baits early in the day, and put up a fight that left these anglers drenched in sweat.

The hard work paid off as everyone a picture with this fish-of-a-liftime before First Mate Alex saw to the clean release.

The momentuem stayed positive with a second Black Marlin release in the early afternoon.

Third time’s a charm, right!

These Texas anglers triumphed on this, the third Marlin of the trip!

With these guys ares about to turn to jelly, First Mate Alex was left to shine alone in the final photos of the day.

We’ve had great fortune with anglers from the Lone Star State, and the Flanagan Boys kept the Texas karma strong!

Dr. Bart Carey and his crew had a knock-out day on the Wanderer with not one, not two, but THREE Marlin releases.

The second Marlin came hot of the heels of the first, with only 45 minutes between releases.

They scored this tasty Dorado for the fishbox:

The final send-off was this amazing above-the-water Marlin fight. Check the action on this beast:

Great safe releases by First Mate Alex underscore another magnificent performance by Captain William and the famous Wanderer.
