December 27, 2014

The Explorer finished 2014 with a near-perfect pair of trips for Ron Rivale and his daughters. This trio is one heck of a fishing team!

The highlight was this HUGE Blue Marlin, easily the biggest of the year so far for the Super Panga.

Captain Carlos kept the fight short and sweet while Mate Kevin executed a picture-perfect live release.

The hits kept on coming with a few Sailfish releases on the 27th.

The finishing touch was a handful of delicious Dorados in the icebox.

Great work by the unstoppable Explorer!

December 26, 2014

The mighty Wanderer put on a show for two groups of clients on December 26. First up was this excellent pair of Rooster fish releases scored first thing in the morning by Leah Armstrong :

These safe releases were the highlight of the morning session, but the big blue beauty was barely getting started.

In the afternoon we welcomed a great returning client and his family.

Hendrick Engel started fishing with our team late last year, and this time he returned with wife Maria and his daughter who was celebrating her 16th birthday.

For the birthday girl, how’s a Double Sailfish release sound for a present?

Great fish handling by First Mate Alex was the icing on the cake!

Captain William is known for squeezing every drop of action out of a fishing day, as proven by the nice Dorado and two more Sailfish scored at the end of the Engel’s outing.

That’s why the Wanderer is the King of Garza Bay!

December 23, 2014

On the morning of the 23rd the Wanderer welcomed client Leah Armstrong and her family for a fruitful day of inshore action.

Captain William found this bubbling bait ball just a mile from shore and the flagship capitalized on this blessing.

Big Rooster fish were the order of the day. Each was live released so we can catch them again soon!

The action stayed strong with several nice Jack Crevelles providing actions for this young angler.

Then in the afternoon the flagship returned to Garza to scoop up Leah Merryfield and her posse for some high-flying Sailfish action.

Just like the shirt says, this Sailfish learned to Fear the Mustache!

The late-day Sailfish bite lead to two awesome fights and two safe releases.

A getaway Dorado scored was the perfect end to a double day of action for Captain William and the mighty Wanderer.

December 22, 2014

December 22 was another day of double-duty for William and Alex on the flagship, and the morning clients got things cooking with a bunch of Sailfish releases.

In the afternoon session, Hendrick Engel and his daughter continued their fishing hot streak with a bevy of Yellowfin Tuna catches on the Wanderer.

It is rare to see Yella Fellas this early in the season, especially with such good size to them.

Team Engel also scored a nice Sailfish to round out the day.

December 21, 2014

The Wanderer pulled double duty on December 21 with two 5-hour half day trips planned.

In the morning we welcomed Sam Carroll from Brooklyn and his posse scored five sweet Sailfish releases.

The icing on the cake was this MAMMOTH Blue Marlin release right at the end of their trip (11:45 by the timestamp, 15 minutes to go!)

That’s four Marlin releases in four consecutive days for Captain William!

Sam’s group was all smiles when the Wanderer swung into Garza to return them to shore and to welcome Jim Kramer aboard.

Jim last fished with us on Christmas Eve 2012 and scored three nice Sailfish that day.

This time he built upon his legend with a quintet of Sailfish releases.

All eleven Sailfish were safely released by First Mate Alex. Great work by the flagship

Two trips, One day, One guy from Brooklyn, One guy from Delaware, a whole heap of great catches in Costa Rica!

December 20, 2015

Roger Bowgen doubled-down on his first great day of fishing with another world-beating performance with Captain William on December 20 with ANOTHER Mighty Marlin release!

Scored by Roger’s son, this Striped Marlin a true fish of a lifetime!

They also rallied up three Sailfish, including one especially high-flyin’ specimen.

Safe releases all around by the incomparable First Mate Alex.

The Bowgen Boys also walloped a beautiful Yellowfin Tuna.

Add those filets to that trophy case full of billfish releases and you have another fantastic trip delivered by the mighty Wanderer.

December 19, 2014

Great day on the water for two newlyweds who have a close connection to our US office in Jacksonville, FL. Captain Don Dingman is known for his groundbreaking work on the hit TV show Hook the Future and Rebecca Williams-Dingman is an award-winning TV personality on our local news leader WJXT4.

They have visited Costa Rica several times in the last few years, so it was an honor to host a Honeymoon themed blue water fishing-mission for this great couple.

After the Double Sailfish release, they got hooked up to a nice Marlin.

The Wanderer reports great action highlighted by this magnificent Striped Marlin release:

Great work by Rebecca on the reel and Capt. Don on the billshot. Safe released like always!

Later in the trip they released a few nice Sailfish and put some meaty Dorado filets on ice.

Great work by these great folks!

December 18, 2014

Roger Bowgen and his family scored big on the Wanderer with a nice Striped Marlin:

Masterful fish handling by First Mate Alex means that we will see this beauty again down the road.

These Connecticut anglers also notched the scorecard with two nice Sailfish releases and tasty Dorados on ice.

Roger was all smiles when they got home. “We had a great time on the 18th December on the Wanderer,” he wrote in his email. “Capt. William and Alex are certainly a five star team.”

Great trip by the Master Captain William and the flagship Wanderer!

December 12, 2014

Captain William has a long history of delivering great results, and he was tracked down by some of his former clients from the pre-Wanderer days. This couple rejoined the Master Captain for a full day trip and turned in an astounding performance.

First up with this big Blue Marlin release. On it’s own this is a true fish-of-a-lifetime, but for these anglers it was just the tip of the iceberg.

Fresh of the Marlin release was a slew of tasty Dorados.

Then they a sweet Sailfish release for a send-off.

That’s an outstanding day of action from the baddest boat in the bay, the Wanderer with Master Captain William.
