A relaxing sunset cruise was a fitting end to one of the busiest months ever for the Wanderer. Client Charles Bamburg brought a fun-loving group on board for a quick 2.5 hour jaunt to the inshore reef and they had a boatload of fun to go with several Jack Crevelle catches.
Take a look at the good times:
Andrew Rapin and his party opted for a relaxing Sunset cruise and sighted a gigantic Humpback Whale, a rare treat so close to shore.
They also enjoyed the lovely scenery around Garza Bay.
The Wanderer made sure to get some rods bending as well as this group boated several Bonitas; not great to each, but still nice to have some action.
Mark Manson brought his family to the Wanderer for a relaxing sunset cruise, but the fish were biting with such frequency and variety that relaxation fell by the wayside.
They started off by catching a and bunch of Bonitas which are not very tasty for humans to eat; however the bottom fish can’t resist them!
Mark’s family pulled in a 15lbs. Ponpano (above) and 25lbs. Grouper which should provide more than enough filets for the rest of their trip. Another excellent sunset trip from the famous Wanderer!
Steve White booked up the Wanderer for a pair of sunset cruises and though conditions were great the fish were a tad uncooperative. The blue beauty did manage to snag this nice 25lbs. Amberjack and lost a few other mystery nibbles.
Still a slow evening of fishing beats just about any other activity and Mr. White was satisfied with his catch.
The evening of January 19 was a time for family and friends on the Super panga Explorer. Captain David was joined by his wife Betsy, Head groundskeeper of Nosara Paradise Rentals Grevan Hernandez, and our newest employee, Mechanic’s Mate Marino.
Marino has distinguished himself as the master golf cart mechanic in the area after many years working with our buddy Mike Eisenhower of Island Buggies. It is a treat to add such a skill member to the team and especially nice to see him haul in this nice snapper on the evening tides.
As usual the hot rod belonged to Betsy as she had a hand in filling the fishbox several times over.
Awesome evening of fun and fishing with friends and family…Pura vida!

See that look on his face? That is the standard expression after fighting one of these bad boys. Estimated at 40lbs. this is a great catch exemplifying the jaw-dropping power of the reef fish in Costa Rica.
Great results on a sunset cruise from angler Miriam McDonald’s group. They started off with a few small Dorados, including this one that got chewed up on the way into the boat by a larger mystery fish.
That mystery was solved an hour later when this MASSIVE Cubera Snapper hit a vertical jig. These monsters fight hard but this group of anglers was up to the challenge.
Nice filets in store for this group after another fantastic sunset cruise for the Wanderer.
Bruno Reber and his posse had a nice little sunset fishing trip on the Wanderer and brought home dinner in the form of this nice White Tuna.
Either sushi or steaks the White Tuna is always a welcome treat. MMMMmmmm good!
Judith Cristchell and her friends enjoyed a picturesque sunset cruise on the spacious Wanderer. These quick 2.5 hour trips are just right to take in the vistas and watch dolphins mingle with lazy turtles;
All that, plus these guys and gals also had some fine action on the reels!
These feisty Jack Crevelles couldn’t resist the Planer / Spoon rig and they lined up to pile into the fishbox. Looks like everyone was pumped up to get some fish in the boat.
Well almost everyone!
All smiles on another memorable and productive sunset cruise on the flagship Wanderer.
James Petter brought the whole family for a quick 2.5 hour trip on the Wanderer. They stayed inshore and caught an array of fish including some small Dorados, tasty White Tunas, and a big ole Jack Crevelle.
Another super family outing on the Wanderer; everyone caught fish and got hooked up with big smiles!
