After waylaying four Sailfish and a big Bull Dorado, Kevin Golden and his fellow Tampa anglers stayed inshore to try their hand at the strongest fish in the shallows: the Cubera Snapper!
This red monster engulfed a rigged live bait and the fight was on for Kevin…they grow ’em big in Tampa Bay but not this big! Even though this is a ‘small’ Snapper at 35lbs. it fought just as hard as its 80+lbs. brothers.

Kevin Golden has booked four trips on the mighty Wanderer this week and we expect for him to have a lights out performance. His first day certainly didn’t disappoint with four Sailfish releases.
Great work by First Mate Alex to safely release these fish, all while coordinating a photo shoot!
They backed up the trophy fish with a big Bull Dorado; the meanie greenies have been thick the last two weeks so look out for some big Mahi filets coming your way.
