The late-night rains have helped to stir up the sea life in the near-shore area. The fresh cool water rushing out of the mountains creates a perfect estuary for boiling balls of baitfish.


Captain William found this bait pod on April 23 with client Claire Casazza and her friends. They worked this bait school hard and caught this excellent Cubera Snapper:


In the early afternoon they added a nice 20lbs. Rock Snapper to the menu:

 

The final fish of the day was the biggest…this whopper Snapper tips the scales way over 30lbs.
