On August 11, Stephan Badstieber and his posse finished up a great week of fishing with a quick trip on the Adventurer.
They stayed near-shore and plumbed the bottoms for a small White Tuna and a nice Red Snapper.
Stephan Badsteiber continued his run of excellent trips on August 8. Top of the scorecard is the very challenging Double Sailfish release.
They also scored a few solo Sailfish releases, plus a decent Dorado for the dinner table.
We recieved this email from Stephan after the trip: “Dear Matty, Thanks a lot, that we could fish with Antonio an Raffa on the Explorer. They are working very hard, we enjoyed every minute on the boat. I also think, that we caught the whole of Costa Rica the last week!
On August the 8th,we got a double strike of sailfish, released another one and caught a Mahi Mahi. Great fishing and big memories for us!”

Fresh Tuna Burrito
Stephan Badstieber and his team added Yellowfin Tuna to their haul on August 6.
German angler Stephan Badstieber added a Sailfish release to his hefty scorecard on the 5th.
They also filled the filet bag with several big Dorados.
European angler Stephan Badstieber scored the fish of a lifetime with the Explorer on August 4. Check out this MONSTER Rooster Fish release:
“Thanks a lot for the great fishing day with Antonio and Raffa on the Explorer,” wrote Stephan in an email. “We are excited for what will happens the next few days. Today I caught the fish I was dreaming of for the last three years!”
In addition to the Rooster fish release, they added a nice Amberjack for the dinner table. Yummy!
Nosara is a crossroads of the world, and on August 2 we were honored to welcome German angler Stephan Badstieber and his group for a long-delayed fishing adventure in Costa Rica.
These guys had to wait out Covid in Europe for over 2 years with this trip on the books, and it’s great that they good started right with several Yellowfin Tunas.
