Our great friend Patrick Armbruster is no stranger to big-time reef fish as evidenced by this massive haul on a day trip with Captain David on the Explorer.
White Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Walleye Tuna, and the terrifying Cuberra Snapper…clearly the Explorer is game to battle all kinds of great tasting and hard-fightin’ reef fish.
Javier and our great friend Brooke Shields took an evening cruise on the Explorer with fine results. While it was “slow” all day for the other boats, Captain David strolled in and boated a dozen fish in 1.5 hours. Not so slow after all!
Javier claims that he will catch the first Marlin on the Explorer, but for now these little fellas will have to do.
St. Augustine anglers Roy and Cathy Cox followed up their strong performance on the Wanderer with a great day of action on the Explorer. They caught a pair of Yellowfin tunas over 20lbs, two big Amberjacks and seven black tunas. Great trip!
The Wanderer missed a day for some fuel pump repairs, but in no time at all she was back in the water. Of course, Concierge Numero Uno Manuel (of Nosara Paradise Rentals) had to check and make sure the repairs were up to par…not to mention do a little ‘company research’ while he was out there.

Tara Barnes’ family was on the Wanderer for a half-day of fishing to close out 2010. The crew stayed inshore and caught several tunas highlighted by four big Yellowfins. Great trip from one of our favorite clients.ย Pura Vida!
Looks like the Blue Water has arrived! Clients John and Mary in the Wanderer caught 12 Yellowfin tunas rounding 10 to 25lbs. They also caught a 30lbs. Dorado and a 50 lbs. Hamberjack!
Over on the Explorer clients Andrew and Jay on the caught 7 white tunas and 8 black tunas. Looks like things are about to get hot! Pura Vida!
The wedding went off without a hitch on December 21, but their final trip on the Wanderer the next day would be the final test of the newlyweds’ luck.
Clearly the heavens smiled on the couple as their last trip was the most productive of all: 12 yellowfin tunas (10-25lbs.), a 30lbs. Dorado and a beastly 50lbs. Amberjack.
I am proud to say the wedding was a great success. Everything went smoothly and the families had an unforgettable experience in Costa Rica. On behalf of the entire FishingNosara and Nosara Paradise Rentals family, congratulations and good luck in your life together.
On December 4 clients Peter and Wilmar had a field day on the football-sized Yellowfin Tunas. They caught fourteen total fish weighing 12lbs. to 30lbs.
On November 21 Craig Sutton was joined on the Wanderer by Matty, Pat, Paula, Craig Jr., Sylvia and Charley Barnhart and we did a full day of work on the offshore Yellowfin Tuna.
The big Yellas were chowing down on Williamson Jet Poppers and slow-trolled cedar plugs. Even though these catches were great, we still left a few big fellas in the water.
Overall, a great day fishing with some great folks.
