The Explorer rounded out the month of July with a nice run of Sailfish releases on July 26. Take a look at these powerful pelagics:

On July 25th the Harvester and angler Carlyle Smith found themselves neck-deep in some BIG Sailfish.

This is the time of year when the Sailfish are at their largest, with some of these easily over 150lbs.

A mid-day Dorado took care of dinner.

More nice Sailfish releases rounded out the day.

Great work by the mega panga!
Captain Fico on the Explorer delivered another great trip to Mr. and Mrs. Juan Levesque on July 25. Big Sailfish releases provided the excitement on this trip.

However these Florida anglers melted some ice, thanks to this big Yellowfin Tuna.

Great work by the barroom brawler!
Kathleen Clarke came to us as a novice angler, but after her trip on the Discoverer she has cut her teeth as a big-time blue water angler.
These Sailfish put on a great show and the releases were quick and easy.

She wrote us a very nice email:
“Just wanted to let you know that we had an incredibly amazing time on our fishing trip. ย I donโt think that it could have been any better. ย Captain Carlos and Kevin were stellar – I would highly recommend that crew to anyone. ”
“All 5 in our party caught fish and we were not expecting to. ย Kevin kept the boat very clean and tidy and made sure that we all had everything that we needed. ย Lunch was excellent also, as was the fruit. ย We caught a mix of mahi-mahi and sailfish. We saw porpoises and turtles too.”
“Thanks so much!!!”
Captain Alex kept the good times rolling on July 24 with angler Alan Brewer’s group collecting a bunch of Sailfish releases.

Looks like everyone on board got a chance to battle a big billfish.

Even Captain Alex got in on the billfish releases while Mate Wilson tried to get feeling back in his arms.

Great day by the mega panga Harvester!

The Explorer posted a big day with Juan Levesque on July 24, highlighted by a swarm of sweet Sailfish releases.

Mate Elias had his hands full to safely release these monsters.

Later on they teamed up to reel in this monster Yellowfin Tuna.

Great work by the barroom brawler Explorer!
Texas angler Carlyle Smith had a fantastic day of blue water action on July 23.

This Sailfish release was a precursor to this excellent Marlin release:

The billfish kept coming as this fun group had multiple strikes throughout the day.

Excellent work by Master Captain William and the mighty flagship Wanderer!
The Discoverer welcomed Eric Melanie and Titus Etters on July 22 and they notched the scorecard with a bunch of nice Sailfish releases.

They also added meat to the menu a big Yellowfin Tuna and a nice Dorado on ice.

For those still clinging to the old notion that the fishing in Costa Rica is not white-hot in July, please check out this July 22 trip from the Harvester with angler Carlyle Smith.

This monster Marlin was just the tip of the iceberg.

A big time Sailfish wasn’t far behind, and the mega panga was there to pull her in.

Another great Sailfish also found its way to the Harvester.

Normally a big day full of billfish releases would be all that you need, but why not add some big Dorado filets for the fishbox?

Oh and in case you are wondering, all of these catch came on just a 6.5 hour trip…imaging if they had gone for a full eight hours!
Juan Levesque and the Wanderer loaded up on filets with a bunch of Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas on ice during their trip on July 22.
