Mr. and Mrs. John Rozas returned to the Explorer looking for a repeat of their success from last year. In March 2013 John nabbed a big Broomtail Grouper and together the released a nice Sailfish:

Notice how they seem a little apprehensive about handling this bucking billfish? They barely want to lay a finger on the mighty beast.

That was then, this is now:

Looks like John and Liz are trying out for a Mate position on the FishingNosara team!

Great work by this super couple!

John and Liz Rozas have returned to Nosara and they are primed up for some big time action with their main man Captain David. These hard-fishing folk hail from New Jersey and they got the action going quick with some sweet Sailfish releases:

Captain David kept them in the thick of the action all day and Mate Kevin hooked these bad boys with great precision.

Check out the sweet fish handling by the Rozas on these Sailfish.

John Rozas struck again on the Explorer after his great Sailfish release earlier in the week. Check out this gigantic Broomtail Grouper that Mr. Rozas hauled off the bottom:

That is a whopper. Here’s an excerpt from John’s email:

David fileted it, and I took one half home. Gave the other half to David for his family and friends. The head went to Marcus, for fish head soup.

I froze filets overnight in freezer in room, then wrapped them in a bubble wrap type freezer bag I had from fishing in Alaska. Came home and filets were still rock solid. Will be eating tonight.
