Later he released a smaller but equally beautiful Rooster Fish, and nabbed a big Amberjack for the fishbox.
The Explorer snatched up a little bit of everything in mid-August. They pulled a double trophy release with this Sailfish and Rooster fish on the same trip:
Then they paired another Rooster fish release with a full fishbox of filets:
The Super panga is on a hot streak and continues to create converts to Extreme Panga fishing.
“Rooster fish mania!” writes Ed Smith. “Went out with Carlos and Juan Carlos on the Discoverer today, made bait and turned every bait into a fish.”
“Here are a few of the better ones. Plus a few shots of the tools used today, raised a marlin and sail fish off shore.”

On August 15 the big battleship Discoverer stayed inshore for a Rooster fish firefight!
Three beautiful release will certainly fill the trophy room for Russell Brewster and his posse…great work by Captain Carlos and Mate Juan Carlos.

There aren’t many places on Earth where can you score trophy fish releases both near-shore and off-shore on the same trip.
Scott and Linda McAnally found out that one of those place is in Nosara, as long as you’re on the Wanderer!

The Explorer has cemented a reputation as a true catch-all vessel; in late July the barroom brawler scored every major type and species of fish in our stretch of water.
As usual the Pacific Sailfish have been thick and Captain Fico has been there to capitalize.
Also offshore the Super Panga found some excellent Yellowfin Tuna.
The action was hot inshore as well, with Amberjack and big Cubera Snappers on ice plus lots of beautiful Rooster fish releases:
Captain Alex got on a hot streak in mid-July with a wide array of sweet specimens. There was nice inshore action, especially on Rooster Fish:
It’s not just trophy releases; this is tasty whopper of a Cierro Mackeral:
The barroom brawler Explorer closed out the month with a wide variety of great action with clients Britta and Sam Gramer .
