Nosara Paradise Rentals GM, Fuppernos presidente, and Mayor of Nosara Javier Hernandez took to the seas today on the Wanderer.

Flanked by Chief Mechanic Marino, Driver Primero Freddy, and Mate Kevin (of the Explorer), Senor Javier released an awesome Sailfish just a few miles from shore.

Nice work by Mate Kevin on the rope-n’-release!

Javier’s got a family to feed, so after the trophy release he dropped a bait to the reefs and hauled in this big Cubera Snapper.

All in a day’s work for the Mayor!

Shawn and Jen Riley won their trip to Nosara from the Wavemasters Surfing Tournament last year in Jacksonville, and their half day on the Wanderer delivered two excellent Sailfish releases backed up by a big Dorado on ice.

Jen was the hot rod for the day, breaking the ice early with the Dorado and closing the day with the second Sailfish release.

Shawn followed up with a big Sailfish that almost took him into the drink for a bath!

Great work from another in long line of fish-catching Northeast Florida clients.

Catherine Chase and Ron LaGro have been fishing with us since 2009, and the Wanderer always performs when they take to the blue water. Click this link to check out their prior trips; these two are pulled off the first Double Sailfish release!

Anyways, their trip on January 15 produced the baddest Black Marlin of the season so far…take a look at the shoulders on this gorilla:

Let’s watch from the hook-up to the release:

Ron LaGro fought the Black well, allowing it to tire itself out deep rather than allow it to put on an aerial display.

The fight was short and efficient and Alex executed a perfect release as usual.

Later in the day Catherine scored on billfish with this lovely Sailfish release.

Ron countered with a Sailfish release of his own to finish off the trip.

Amazing work by the flagship Wanderer and these super-angler clients.

Mike Burling has returned to Nosara to continue his pursuit of big blue water trophy fish. This group of Northeast Florida anglers are hardcore fishermen and they know what to do when the big Sails swoop in.

The bite was on something fierce, leading to five Sailfish releases for this group of four anglers.

They added this nice Dorado to keep the fridge full of filets.

Excellent hunting by Master Captain William and great releases by the incomparable First Mate Alex.

Graham Mehain and his group stayed inshore for their trip on the Wanderer and were rewarded with a healthy bounty of great tasting filets. This Yellowtail is certainly the highlight of their haul:

They then followed up with a beefy Jack Crevelle.

The ladies set the bar pretty high, but Graham made a good account of himself with this day-ending Dorado.

Excellent inshore hunting by the mighty flagship.

Hall of Famer Dennis Paul and Barbara Dayhoff have made life absolutely miserable for the billfish population this week, and on their second-to-last trip of their vacation they laid a beating on another quartet of Sailfish.

Barbara kicked off the action with this sweet release.

Then Dennis got back in the swing of things was a pair of Sailfish releases.

Barbara nabbed a MASSIVE Dorado mid-day to keep the refrigerator filled.

Then Barbara scored this final release as a victory lap.

Excellent work again by this dynamic fishing duo!

Emily Fuller and her friends had a field day on the Wanderer with three Sailfish released and a pair of big Dorados for the dinner table.

Emily routed the first Sailfish alongside the flagship for a smooth release early in the trip.

After the release, they were treated to many Dorado strikes with four green monsters put on ice.

The action stayed strong later in the trip with two more Sailfish releases notched on the scoreboard.

That is some intense action for only a 5 hour trip. Great work by the Master Captain William and the Super Mate Alex!

Big Fish and Big Smiles for Keith Siegal and his posse on board the Wanderer. This fun-loving group of Texans took got their afternoon half day started with this excellent Dorado.

Later in the trip they were rewarded with an acrobatic Sailfish assaulting the flagship’s baits. It was a wild fight, but as usual the Wanderer was victorious.

Great hunting by Captain William and excellent fish handling by the awesome First Mate Alex!

January 9, 2014

Doc Hatton and the posse are back on the Wanderer and were welcomed with improved weather and a gaggle of hungry fish.

The battleground was less than a mile from Garza point and the Wanderer defended her home turf by building up a classic feeding frenzy. The first catch was a juvinile Yellowtail Snapper, followed up by a medium-sized Nurse Shark.

An inauspicious start indeed, however this is the first phase of stirring up a bottom fish bite. Sure enough the action coaxed some big fish up from their seafloor hiding spots.

This Broomtail Grouper is a real monster! Right behind it was another nice-sized bottom dweller:

The bite stayed strong and a group of Jack Crevelle swung by to investigate the fishy waters.

The final jewel in the Wanderer‘s bottom fishing crown was this nice Rooster fish.

We release this species, but with the massive Snapper and Grouper catches from earlier it is safe to say that Doc Hatton and his group will be well-stocked with filets this week.
