Mike Hartley broke in his new FishingNosara Hat with this sweet Rooster fish release. There are many lures that will tempt a Rooster fish, but none as effective as the ‘new hat lure’
Seriously though, nice work by the Wanderer and Mike Hartley.
Our old pal Gene Pleasants scored a nice Sailfish backed up by a Dorado on February 13.
After a great trophy fish release like this, it feels great to add some filets for the fishbox.

John Wills and his buddies joined the Wanderer for a full day of fun action on February 12. The Sailfish were hungry as this group released a trio of high-flying billfish.

Mike Hartley is the latest in a long line of North Carolina anglers to find success on the mighty Wanderer. This great group of CCA NC anglers scored early and often:

When things start with a quadruple hook-up, you know you’re in for a crazy day of action.
They scored nine Sailfish releases in total throughout the trip, all safe released by First Mate Alex.
Great performance from these Tar Heel State anglers!
Joe Williams scored a trio of nice Sailfish on February 9, plus added a nice Dorado for the dinner table.
Outstanding work by Captain William to deliver these great fish on just a half day of fishing. Safe releases by First Mate Alex are the perfect ending to a great day on the water.
David Svec has returned to Nosara for his annual assault on Sailfish, and the mighty Wanderer was up to the task of hunting down some big billfish for this Massachusetts angler.
Linda Moody had a great day on the Explorer earlier in the week, then moved up to the Wanderer for more great Sailfish action.
They only spent a half day on the mighty flagship, but still scored a pair of “His and Hers” Sailfish releases.
Brock Liebreich and his wife had a picture-perfect day of trophy fish releases on the Wanderer. They started out their full day trip with this wonderful Rooster Fish release less that 5 miles from shore:
Captain William then set offshore and found Sailfish City to be teeming with fired-up Sailfish.
They notched seven Sailfish releases throughout the trip. Check out this high-flyer:
The action stayed hot all afternoon long:

On February 5 Craig Sutton joined the Wanderer with the goal of replicating the prior day’s Cubera Snapper success.
The offshore gear stayed stowed as Craig dropped a live blue runner to the reef on a Penn 760 Slammer. This monster Cubera ascended to the surface to maul the frightened bait, and the fight was on!
Amazing fish for Craig which may only be bested by his previous Hall of Fame Cubera catches:
