Amazing Striped Marlin release today on the Wanderer! Mississippi’s own Josh Luke and Emily booked a half-day on the mighty blue bomber and Captain William delivered the goods for these client.

This guy put on a show as Josh brought him alongside for the release. Excellent teamwork by First Mate Alex and Josh to ensure the safe handling and release of this majestic Marlin.

After four Striped Marlin releases yesterday, it’s clear that the Wanderer has the Stripeys on the run!

Our great friend Wayne Estes from Jacksonville has made multiple runs offshore with us over the years, but today’s “Valentine’s Day Massacre” will live on forever in FishingNosara history as the most productive day of Marlin fishing to date. Mr. Estes caught and released an unheard-of number of Striped Marlin.

The good-looking blue water was far away by our standards (30 miles) but Captain William’s gambit to go this far out paid dividends early and often. Things started off well with an early Sailfish release by Mr. Estes.

After the Sail was safely released the Wanderer was ambushed by wave after wave of Striped Marlin. The first one hit around 8:30 am and the Estes’ released one an hour for the next four hours.

That’s right, FOUR Striped Marlin release on a five-hour trip. Throw the early Sailfish in the mix and you have a exemplary day of Hall of Fame-caliber fishing.

Most importantly, all five billfish were safely and quickly released. We look forward to catching them another day.

What an amazing trip for the crew and clients! Great job by Captain William and First Mate Alex to deliver the trip of a lifetime to old friend Wayne Estes.

Nosara Paradise Rentals GM Javier Hernandez took a quick 2.5 hr Sunset cruise with Captain David on the Explorer and el jefe pulled in reef monsters that would cause the most refined palette to salivate.

These Red Groupers are far and away the most delicious of the Grouper family and the Congrio is legendary for its tasty white meat. From monster snook to inshore assaults Senior Javier has the tools and the talent to bring home the bacon. Yummy!

Neal Jerome and his group took to the Wanderer for a 2.5 hr. excursion and they found a plethora of Red Groupers hovering on the reefs below. This is just seven of the Groupers they put on ice:

These tasty morsels are somewhat common around here but that doesn’t make them any less delicious or fun to catch.

They caught nine of these colorful Groupers in less than three hours. Excellent fishing by these California anglers on the magnificent Wanderer.

The Wanderer hosted Charles and his family for a fun-filled day on the water on February 9. They had some unique catches over the reef and took a few minutes out for an impromptu Snorkeling trip.

Charles broke the ice with this fine Red Grouper caught on a slow troll. Notice the spearfishing boat in the background; this is a crafty move by Captain William to utilize the commotion caused by the divers to coax these bottom dwellers up to the surface.

Mom followed up with a tasty White Tuna caught on a planer/spoon rig and was the first of two tasty White Tunas.

White Tuna are incredibly tasty to eat. Don’t take our word for it…ask this Red Grouper:

They capped off their morning trip with a nice swim just outside of Garza Bay. Great fishing and great fun on the Wanderer.

Our new friend Nora Nolan booked the Wanderer for a brief 2.5 hour morning session and the action was incredibly intense, even by the flagship’s standards. With time too short to head offshore, Captain William anchored up to Pincha Padre and found abundant marine life.

After some small Bonita and Guardias found their way to the hooks, this party got going in the form of two Broomtail Groupers (25lbs. and 35lbs.) plus they added two of the rare and tasty Congrios.

The Congrio is a half-fish / half-eel that yields a tasty white meat and is sought after around the world for use in sushi rolls; of course the amazing taste of the Grouper goes without saying.

Check out the other area boats in the background trying to get in on this pot of fish…the Wanderer is never greedy, she just leads the way for the rest of pack!

The Explorer notched another great sunset trip with client Sean and his young friends. In just three short hours they boated a handful of Yellowfin Tuna andย  nice Jack Crevalle.

The inshore reefs around Garza are as familiar to Captain David as the back of his own hand and once again he put the Explorer directly on top of the fish. Great fishing performance from Sean, Captain David, and the unstoppable Explorer.

What a great trip for Colorado angler John Betz! He and the wife put in the hours necessary for bill fishing success and their temporal investments paid huge dividends.

The highlight of the trip with this incredible Striped Marlin (safe released as always), but Mrs. Betz backed up that monster with a beastie of her own: this beautiful Pacific Sailfish.

Another fantastic trip from Captain William and the world-famous Wanderer!
