Andy McGuire had a phenomenal trip on the legendary Explorer with Captain David on the helm and Captain Carlos in the mate position. The dynamic duo put out an irresistible spread and the Sailfish swarmed the Super panga with veracity. Check out this high-flyin’ billfish action:

The first pair of Sailfish put on a great show above the water, but the second pair put on a high-wire act the likes of Barnum and Bailey’s:

Always the mindful skipper, Captain David set the Explorer up for Dorado later in the trip and scored this tasty morsel for his client.

Excellent work as always by the legendary Super panga!

The Wanderer stayed near shore today with client David Abbott and took advantage of the swarm of Wahoo that have invaded the green water. They scored two nice silver bullets:

Clearly Wahoo is on the menu for these guys.. However they may need to trade some filets if they want any Mahi; I don’t think this fella will even made two sandwiches:

Charlie and the boys couldn’t resist adding one more full day on the mighty Wanderer before returning to the States, and Capt. Phillips finally got his chance at the fish of a lifetime.

Charlie Phillips: Today was an epic end to a fantasy week for me. I battled the most noble of the billfish, the majestic Blue Marlin, and was rewarded with a photo, the hook removed and in my pocket then a successful release. One of the best days I have ever experienced on the water. And better yet we ended up two!

The second Marlin (below) came at 11am for Charlie fresh on the heels of his first (above).

Jason followed up with his own excellent Marlin release.

Charlie Phillips: “This was by far the most enjoyable vacation that myself or anyone in my group has ever experienced. Your staff is wonderful and took care of us as though we were family the entire time, something that is greatly appreciated. And your captains and crews are true masters of their craft. As a working captain myself, it is a true joy watching them work to make our trips a great success.”

August 2, 2013

Linda and Mike Connelly brought the whole family down from Florida to experience all that Nosara has to offer. After a magical Horseback Safari Tour they chose the Wanderer for a productive day of inshore fishing. They hauled in a Dorado and a Ponpano which should both go well with the Wahoo that Matty donated to them after they let him tag along on the horses.

This Dorado was scored by Michael who reps his Duval Jaguars hat wherever he goes, from Florida to his current home in Hawaii to Nosara.

Later Joe scored this excellent Pacific Ponpano which makes for some excellent ceviche.

John scored this nice White tuna to close out the trip.

All told it was a great trip with lots of excitement for the whole group. We can’t wait to welcome them back again soon!

Charlie Phillips, Joe Timm, and Jason Kintner blew the fish out of the water on August 1, posting their best performance to date. How about two Marlin (300lbs. and 500lbs.) and a Sailfish for the trophy case and a nice 25lbs. Mahi for the dinner table?

Matty joined Captain Carlos and Nosara Paradise Rentals GM Javier Hernandez for a short afternoon on the Adventurer and caught one of these used-to-be-rare-now-suddenly-common Wahoo.

Tasty eating all around and good fun on the 23-foot pocket knife.

Charlie Phillips, Jason Kintner, and Joseph Timm had a huge day on the Explorer with lots of billfish action backed up with good eatin’ fish.

Jason Kitner: “SIX Pacific Sail Fish on the Explorer with Capt David and First Mate Kevin in one day! OUTSTANDING!!!”

After releasing the trophy fish this posse set up shop over the reef about 2 miles out and piled the fishbox high with tasty Yellowfins.

Tim Womack and his family lit it up on the Wanderer during their quick visit to Nosara near the end of July. The mayor of Sailfish City put this excellent family of anglers on five Pacific Sailfish…even the wife and kids got to reel in some monster billfish!

Tim broke the ice with the first release of the day, but was soon challenged by a mighty pair of junior anglers.

Not to be outdone, mama got in on the action with a Sailfish of her own.

Tim finished off the trip the same way he started with the fifth and final safe release.

Great hunting by Captain William and wonderful fish-handling by First Mate Alex to safely release all five fish.

Glenn Wootton’s group returned to the flagship on July 28 and took a tour of Sailfish City. The action fired off early in the full day trip and didn’t let up ’til late in the afternoon.

After three quick releases before noon, the action slowed down just long enough for lunch. In the afternoon the group picked up two more Sailfish releases plus a big Wahoo for the dinner table.

Great day all around by the Wanderer!
