On February 19 returning anglers Bob and Helen Goins executed a Double Sailfish release on the Wanderer.
Both fish were safely handled and released by Mate Johnson, however we chose to not get the double picture and instead let one go early to ensure the safety of the fish.
Bob Goins’ posse kept the pedal to the metal on their second consecutive trip on the Wanderer.
They nabbed four more Sailfish, all safely released.
Gotta love when these high-flyers put on a show like this!
Bob Goins is back and he got down to business on the Wanderer on February 15.
The Sailfish releases kept piling up until these veteran anglers had notched the scorecard five times.
Great work by Mate Johnson to see to the safe releases of these Sailfish.
Bob Goins left the ladies at home for his second trip of the week and led the boys on a fishing mission to Sailfish City. Captain William found the fish and they hooked up a Sailfish right off the bat.
No gloves, huh Alex? It’s safe to say that First Mate Alex is in mid-season form with all the Sailfish releases this month!
These North Carolina anglers totaled four Sailfish releases on the trip.
Bob’s boys also added a pair of Dorados which should make the wives happy that the bacon is being brought home.
Excellent work as always by the famous Wanderer.
Bob and Helen Goins turned in a remarkable performance on the mighty Wanderer with two Marlin releases along with a bunch of Sails.
Helen broke the ice early with a wonderful Striped Marlin release…like most of our CCA NC anglers these folks know what to do with a rod in their hands.
The Marlin have been soft-biting so far this season, so the ever-tinkering First Mate Alex has begun to experiment with brightly colored skirts for the ballyhoo.
These did the trick as the Goins group started racking up Sailfish releases in the middle part of the day.
The finale was also the highlight as Bob reeled in this awesome Blue Marlin.
Estimated over 300lbs., this is one of the bigger Blue Marlin you’ll see around here.

The amazing red moon has shone over Garza Bay this week, and the team has performed excellently under Neptune’s watchful eye.
