Andy Nuber pulled off one of the toughest feats in blue water fishing: The Double Sailfish release!
Aided by Mate Kevin and Mate Wilson, both of these creatures were safely released.
Later on they hooked up a nice Dorado for the dinner table.
Our new friend Nick Lowe came to Nosara for a fishing adventure, and they chose Captain Carlos and the Discoverer as the platform for blue water action on March 13.
Big Dorado were on the menu, and a late-day Sailfish release was the icing on the cake.
The Discoverer suffered a setback during her trip on February 4 as one of her Yamaha F150’s blew up.
This oil pump assembly cracked, and in a matter of seconds seized up the crankshaft, flywheel, and stator.
We expect to have the battleship repaired and back in the water this week.
Big thanks to our pal Jamie at Tidewater Boat Works in Jacksonville to help us locate some hard-to-find parts for this repair, and of course big praise is due to Oldemar our Costa Rica Yamaha Mechanic.
The battleship Discoverer went on a two-way mission on February 3. Early in the trip they headed offshore to do battle with a pair of lovely Sailfish.
After the safe releases, Captain Carlos headed inshore for a super Rooster Fish release.
Our dear friend Jerome McKown continues to add to his FishingNosara Hall of Fame resume with a great day of action for his group on February 1.
After this sweet Sailfish release, these Texas anglers scored a nice Yellowfin Tuna with a baitcaster reel he brought from home.

The blue water kept producing with an excellent Sailfish backed up by a tasty Yellowfin Tuna.

Captain Carlos reported nice work on January 30 by David Swanson’s group.
Big Marlin release backed up with a Sailfish release and some Dorado for dinner.
The battleship welcomed Dave Van Wart on January 29 and filled the fishbox with tasty Dorado filets.
The Discoverer continued her consistent filet delivery with angler Jason Beck and his group reporting a bunch of Yellowfin Tunas backed up by a big Dorado.

Hiro Toma continued his campaign of catching fish of a lifetime with this mega Cubera Snapper on January 22.
