Heidi and Jim O’Calligan captured a nice array of Sailfish releases on August 20 with Captain Fico on the Explorer.

In addtion to the billfish releases, they also nagged a nice Dorado for the dinner table.

August 19, 2021

Heidi and Jim O’Calligan took the Explorer offshore for some extreme panga fishing on the 19th and they found Sailfish stacked up and ready for battle.

This Double Sailfish release set the tone for a day full of bent rods.

Heidi rounded out the day’s trophy releases with a tasty Yellowfin Tuna for the dinner table. Excellent work by Captain Fico and the super panga Explorer.

Rickie Crews scheduled a full week of fishing on the big boats, but this unstoppable angler decided to book the Explorer on his ‘off-day’.

This monster Yellowfin Tuna was backed up with several smaller examples.

Excellent job by Captain Fico!

Captain Fico continued to amaze on July 29 with an excellent day of action with angler Stewart Overley.

The Sailfish release was backed-up with a 10lbs. Yellowfin Tuna. Not bad for just a five hour trip!

Captain Fico and the Explorer delivered an excellent Sailfish release on the 28th with Steven and Rachel Gremillion’s family.

Excellent work by the super panga on this 5-hour trip.

July 23, 2021

Tim Wagner and the Explorer found a few nice Sailfish on July 23.

Nice release by Mate Fito, who is currently in-training. Guests from this season recognize Fito as our new panga boat operator and he has done great so far this season running the clients and supplies to/from the boats.

We look forward to Fito’s continued development as a boatman.
