The Discoverer welcomed some ladies from the Yoga Paradise Retreat led by Beverly Brown, Belinda Taylor, and Carla Kemp on February 21.

Several nice Sailfish releases provided great memories for this group.

Also they nagged this excellent Dorado for the dinner table.

Big fish and big smiles is what we love to see!

Phil Egan’s hot streak continued on February 18. Here is the email he sent us after the trip:

Hey there Craig –

Had another killer day on the 5 hr trip on the Harvester yesterday. 3-4 miles out we had our first sail hooked up – the guys were still setting up and only had the shotgun line in the water.

Went on to go 5 for 7 on sails and 1 for 2 on dorado (24 lbs). That boat is a bad ass fishing machine!

Thanks for 3 great days of fishing. The boats and crews are all top notch. The guys all fish hard and with enthusiasm.

I can’t help but think they’ve all probably caught thousands of sails in their lifetimes, but treat each hookup with the excitement of it being their first.

Until next year!

After a furious four month stretch of action, the Explorer in in the shop for maintance and upgrades.

Our boats are on anchor in Garza Bay for 10 months a year, and as such there is constant upkeep to keep the fleet in fighing shape.

The top has been lowered so that the stiches can be re-enforced, especailly around the antenna mounts.  Also the storage under the consoles have been reworked and strengthened.

Another clean-up project is the clutter that built up naturally under the splashwell. The livewell pump is now rewired and rerouted to better deliver fresh seawater to the bait fish.

Up front is a new coat of gelcoat on the floor and gunwales. Also the front-facing seats are being re-upholstered with thicker seat foam.

We are always striving to improve our boats and enhance client comfort. The Explorer will return to the water in early March 2021.
