The Harvester is back in action and scored wonderful Yellowfin Tunas with angler Jim Bruner.

This group wrangled multiple sweet Yella Fellas throughout the day.

Great work by the mega panga!

September 21, 2019

Captain Alex sped through his annual maintenance so that he could get back to the blue water.

On September 21 the Harvester pulled double duty with angler Randy Trent in the morning and Luke Calvery in the afternoon.

This sweet Sailfish release welcomed the mega panga back to the blue water.

Then the elusive and tasty Congrio was on deck as the Harvester moved inshore.

Still basking in the glow of our record-setting 102 trip month of August, the team continued to fish into mid-September. However the time has finally come to refit, repaint, and reload the fleet for an exciting 2020 campaign.

Outside of basic maintenance we don’t have any large-scale projects in store for the fleet this year; however once we start pulling them apart we will certainly find stuff to address.

The Explorer is already stripped and ready for new gelcoat, and the other boats will get the same level of attention over the next six weeks.

Elsewhere, we are upgrading the bathrooms of several of Nosara Paradise Rental’s older units.

It may be the ‘off-season’ but we don’t take days off around here!

The Harvester scored huge on September 7 with tons of great catches. The highlight was this monster Yellowfin Tuna:

This well-rounded trip also included a sweet Sailfish release:

The team added to the filet bag diversity with some small Yellowfin Tunas and Dorados.

So much for the ‘off-season’ !

September 6, 2019

The fishiest off-season ever continued on September 6 as KD Burns continued his billfish battle.

Great work by Mate Kevin and Captain Carlos on the safe release of these Sailfish.

September 5, 2019

The Discoverer welcomed Ken Burns for an offshore billfish hunt on September 5.

The big battleship won the day with a nice Blue Marlin release backed up by a sweet Sailfish releases.

September 2, 2019

John Dant scored a fantastic Marlin release on September 2.

This juvenile Blue Marlin is tricky to hook and requires extra care to release safely…we can’t wait to see this puppy grow to a big bad dog.

They threw down the gauntlet with a nice Sailfish release later in the trip.

September 1, 2019

It’s officially the off-season, but don’t tell Captain Alex and the Harvester. They braved the so-called rainy season on September 1st with Lindsey McNally and her group.

The Sailfish were charged up and ready for action. These Jacksoville anglers were up to the task!

Excellent fish handling by Mate Wilson to ensure the safe release of these beauties.

They also added this Dorado for the dinner table.

August 27, 2019

The Sims group finished off their trip on August 27 with a fun day in the sun on the Discoverer.

They were paced by the Wanderer offshore, but pulled up when the keen-eyed Captain Carlos spotted this floating debris:

The large fish were elusive but the big battleship stayed busy with a large quantity of smaller catches.

They had a sushi appetizer to celebrate the good catches, then contributed their sizable haul of fish to Maria for a family-style dinner back at Nosara Paradise Rentals.
