As the tourism season enters a two month lull, the Fuppernos (Friends of the River) have been working their tails off at the River Mouth. Check out this fantastic Snook scored by Javier aka Rey Robalo on October 2:

This is the highlight of what has been a great few weeks of river fishing:

Our main man Alejandro nabbed an excellent Snook (above), while our old friend Manuel put some food on the table with a variety of catches:

Local legends also weighed in some whoppers:

Most recently Javier reeled in a wonderful Snook at sunset:

Also the staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals took a break from their off-season maintenance tasks to enjoy a Kayak adventure up river:

Pura vida at its finest!

The boats are on the hill and the houses sit empty, but the action never stops at Nosara Paradise Rentals and FishingNosara. Like all great franchises, we donโ€™t rebuildโ€ฆwe reload!

Itโ€™s the rainy season in Nosara during the months of September and October, so this is the time of year when our team prepares for another great season.

Last year the FishingNosara crew obliterated every record on the books for trips run and billfish released, while the staff of Nosara Paradise Rentals established a new high mark with over 500 weeks of rental guests on the books.

The boat crews are hard at work getting the fleet refit for another record-breaking campaign.

The Wanderer takes center stage as she has been dis-assembled and prepped for a fresh coat of white and blue:

The main focus of this off-season is the rebuild the cabin of the flagship Wanderer.

This cabin has served us well, but the lesson we have learned from the Discoverer and Harvesterย is that wood is a liability…therefore we plan to rebuild the cabin out of super-strong and lightweight Coosa Wood.

The crew has been preparing for a month now for Craig, Matt, and Brian’s arrival next week.

We plan to have the process complete inside of a week, just in time for the start of the fishing season in November.

Meanwhile, the property staff is keeping ahead of the aggressive Nature preserve by trimming the dead crown of this tree over Casa Bonita.

They also trenched out a segment of the land for a new wall on the north edge of the campus.

You think you’ve had problems digging through a root…look at this monster:

Of course all the buildings get treated to a fresh coat of paint, including our main office in Guiones Beach:

We love all out clients, but it is a special treat when we can welcome a professional charter captain and his group to our little stretch of blue water paradise.

Marvin Steiding brought the whole crew from his South Florida-based Reel Candy Sportfishing operation for a few days of blue water action on theย Discoverer.

After some early success on Sailfish, they brought it inshore and scored big on Rooster fish.

This Pacific species is certainly a fun catch for these Jupiter, FL based pros.

They also added a few Dorados for the dinner table…great action all around for the Reel Candy team!

The Discoverer is still fishing during September while almost every other boat in the country is on the hill…just because fisherman take a break for the rainy season doesn’t mean the fish do.

Ryan Torbert and his posse proved it on September 14 when they scored a pair of Rooster fish releases. The first one was a bit puny, but the second was a very respectable 20+lbs.

Nice work by the battleship!

Multi-time FishingNosara Hall of Famer Bill Harris brought another posse of Tampa-area anglers for a week of blistering blue water action.

They booked the Wanderer and Discoverer for three days in early September.

We are still awaiting full reports, but for now lets check out the highlights, primarlily this sweet Black Marlin release on the Wanderer:

Bill Harris himself added a nice Sailfish release early on the first day, which was certainly a sign of things to come:

Over on the Discoverer Eli Bedran KO’d a nice Sailfish:

There were lots of bending rods and crushed beer cans all week long. Great work by this fun-loving group!
