Captain William reports several Sailfish releases by anglers big and small.

Great work by this hard-fishin’ family!
In the afternoon the Wanderer took Shelly Peters’ boys offshore and found the fish of a lifetime around 2pm.

This monster Blue Marlin easily weighs over 400lbs. and is the kind of fish that most anglers work their entire lives to conquer.

Amazing work by these young anglers, who also added a nice Sailfish release late in the day:

Roosters in the morning and Billfish in the evening…the flagship proves again why she is the best boat in Costa Rica!
The Wanderer pulled double-duty on December 26 with two half-days scheduled with two sets of clients.

First up was Chris Carroll who opted to stay near-shore in the morning.

A pair of Rooster fish releases were the highlight of the morning, with a beefy Amberjack on ice to round out the scorecard:

After several days of consistent action, Captain William and the Wanderer earned their spot on the ‘Nice’ list, and Santa filled their stockings with an extremely productive day of off-shore action.

Client John Gaviotis and his group scored a quartet of Sailfish releases early in the day, all safe released by Mate Johnson.

All these trophy releases worked up quite an appetite for the crew, so Captain William followed the porpoises to the Yellowfin Tuna feeding grounds.

Looks like Christmas filets all around for John Gaviotis and the crew of the Wanderer!
James Smith joined Captain William on the morning of the 23rd and got the day rolling with a fine Sailfish release.

This high-flyer was the only catch of the morning, however the ensuing afternoon bite was much more fruitful.
Returning FishingNosara Hall of Famer Leah Merryfield has returned with her posse of hard-fishin’ Texans for another three day campaign on the mighty Wanderer.

The Sailfish releases came fast and furious with many multiple hookups:

At the end of the day Captain William scored the finishing touch with a triple-hookup. All three fish were safely released.

Great work by Mate Johnson and First Mate Alex on this mammoth day of Sailfish releases:

The Sailfish-on-a-half day streak continued on December 22 as client Katie Sullivan and her group nabbed another sweet Sailfish release.

Consistency is the mark of a master, and they don’t get better than Captain William.
Michael Koerner and his family scored a swarm of Sailfish releases with Captain Carlos on December 22.

The whole family got in on the action, with safe releases performed by Mate Juan Carlos after the photos.

Great work by the Discoverer!
So of course the one day that the camera fails is the day you catch and release a MAMMOTH Black Marlin…those are the breaks!

Katie Sullivan and her group scored this monster on December 22 with Captain William on the Wanderer.

Hopefully we will get our hands on some higher-quality shots, but for now squint you eyes and enjoy!
The half-day success stories continued with Brett Portham scoring a beautiful Pacific Sailfish on a quick 5hr. jaunt to the blue water.

Captain William has these Sailfish zeroed in and there is no escaping his masterful hunting skills!
