It was Sailfish day on the Discoverer as Eddie Showalter’s group scored a bunch of sweet pez vela releases:
They were coming in on all sides but Captain David and Mate Juan Carlos kept the pressure on, yielding great results.

The Wanderer had an afternoon half day trip on the 19th, which is plenty of time for Captain William and First Mate Alex to notch the billfish scorecard.

Ken and Brenda Russell’s group posted another stellar day of action on March 18, highlighted by this incredible Marlin release by angler Misti Nolan.
They also snagged a Sailfish release and a nice Dorado while they were offshore.

Captain William didn’t rest on his laurels on this 8 hour trip, as he made it back inshore in time to squeeze another magnificent fish into the day.
Great Rooster fish…certainly looks like it still has some fight in it!

Our good friend Eddie Showalter returned to Costa Rica for another foray into the blue water, and brought his friends Mike Neeland and Laura Lanoue.
Laura was thrilled to see that one of her prior conquests is immortalized in our Guiones Beach Office.
She repeated her Sailfish success on the Discoverer with this outstanding release:
She also added a fine Rooster fish release, and got an up close look at a mean old shark.
Safely returned to the water by Mate Juan Carlos, this pez gallo is quite a fish-catching accomplishment.

Client Jeff Denesyk joined the Wanderer for a half day trip on March 16 and scored two trophy fish from both ends of the aquatic spectrum.
This pair of Pacific Sailfish releases was an early morning surprise. Captain William doesn’t waste any time getting to the fishing grounds!
After a safe release, the Wanderer headed inshore where Jeff scored an excellent Rooster fish:
Another live release by First Mate Alex is the icing on the cake. Great work by the flagship!

Hands down the best fish of the month for the Adventurer was this mammoth Cubera Snapper score on March 16.
Easily tipping the scales at 50+lbs., this is the kind of fish the Adventurer was made for:

The Adventurer scored an Amberjack for the record books on March 15. Look at the girth on this monster:
We say it all the time, you don’t need a big boat to catch big fish in Nosara! Great work by Captain Fico and the switchblade Adventurer.

Larry Komenda and Misti Nolan and Ken Russell were back in action on the 14th and they once again threw down the gauntlet with some big mean Pacific Sailfish.
The action was hectic all morning, with four more releases added to the scorecard.

Captain Sergio Atanes assembled a large group from the Tampa, FL area for an all-inclusive week of fishing, safari tours, and big family fun!
After getting settled at Nosara Paradise Rentals, the posse enjoyed dinner at the variety of restuarants in Playa Guiones.
Throughout the week the fishing was on full-bore!
They ended up with 49 Sailfish releases through the course of the week, but there was more going on than just fishing; they also plied the waters of the Rio Nosara via Kayak.
As always the highlight of their experience was the Horseback Mountain tour featuring a tour of the Hernandez family farm.
The food alone is worth the ride, and of course the Pura Vida hospitality was in full effect from Sra. Hernandez.
After a full week of excitement, they closed out their time with Beers at sunset at Playa Guiones.
