Corey Gammill is the latest Connecticut angler to try his hand on our blue water, and Captain Carlos and the fearless Adventurer showed him a great time. Check out this beefcake Dorado they put on ice.
This was the highlight of Corey’s five hour trip which also included some small Snappers and Bonitas.
The Adventurer welcomed Sue Battis and her group today and got a nice bit of good-eatin’ fish.
This big Dorado is the scale-tipper of the day, but the smaller Wahoo caught later in the trip is probably the best tasting; when they are in the 10-30lbs. range is when silver bullets yield the best meat.
Nice job by Captain Carlos and the 23-foot switchblade.
Captain Carlos reports the first Sailfish release of the year for the 23-foot switchblade, and this trophy caught by client David Carroll is arguably the largest Sail of the season so far.
Notice the glassy calm of the water so close in shore? This means that there is nothing to deter the big bluewater pelagic close enough to shore for the wiley Adventurer to strike.
After a safe release by Captain Carlos, these Maryland-based anglers brought home some dinner in the form of two meaty Dorados.
All around perfect day for the up-and-coming Captain Carlos and the Adventurer.
Captain Carlos welcomed Justin Bunting and his lady for a half-day trip on the Adventurer and the sneaky 23-footer got the drop on a trio of tasty Dorados.
Big boat or small, these fish can’t tell the difference when Captain Carlos is on the hunt. Great job by these anglers and the up-and-coming Adventurer.
Matty joined Captain Carlos and Nosara Paradise Rentals GM Javier Hernandez for a short afternoon on the Adventurer and caught one of these used-to-be-rare-now-suddenly-common Wahoo.
Tasty eating all around and good fun on the 23-foot pocket knife.
Big news from the Adventurer! The little boat that no one saw coming just racked her first Wahoo. One of the hardest-fighting and elusive non-billfish species in our area, these silver bullets were caught by none other than newly-minted FishingNosara Hall of Famer Travis Picariello.
Why settle for one when you can have two?
This excellent performance underscores what we have always said down here: right boat + right tackle + right Captain = Great results for our clients. Wonderful day by Travis Picariello and the unstoppable Captain Carlos.
Steve House is staying in Guiones Beach and wanted to dip his toes into the world of blue water fishing. Since he was riding solo the perfect choice was Captain Carlos and the 23-foot Adventurer. Check out this tasty Yella Fella they pried out of the water on board the pocket knife.
Here’s a note from Mr. House:
“Just wanted to say thanks and tell you that your crew here in Nosara was very professional and showed me a really good time. I caught a huge yellow fin Tuna on my fishing trip and the chef at my hotel prepared it for me. It was possibly the best fish I had ever eaten. No fish were caught on the Kayak trip but the guide was sure to point out all the local wildlife. Cheers!”
Nathan Treueskis joined Captain Carlos on the Adventurer and this Hawaii-based angler brought along a little lady with some big fish-fightin’ skills! Check out this beautiful Pacific Sailfish release:
Captain Carlos in on a tear this week with three Sailfish release in a five day span…that action supersedes all 23′-under boats in the bay and cements Carlos’ reputation as one of the baddest dudes on the ocean. Look out for more great action from the secret weapon this summer!
