The Explorer introduced Travis and Bob Suits to the blue water species with a nice dose of extreme panga fishing.

This nice Sailfish was the memorable fish of a day which also included some nice Yellowfin Tunas.

FishingNosara Hall of Famer Dan Johnson returned to the Explorer on December 7 and started quickly with a wonderful Sailfish release.

Then in the afternoon the 27-foot barroom brawler nagged several nice Yellowfin Tunas.

Looks like Dan will have plenty to eat this week:

On December 4, Greg Patts and Captain Fico slayed some dragons on board the Explorer.

These nice Sailfish releases were backed up by a nice handful of tasty Yellowfin Tunas.

Great work by the barroom brawler!
Captain Fico stayed inshore today with angler Moses Homer reporting an excellent Rooster Fish release. They backed up that catch with a football-sized Yellowfin Tuna for the dinner table.

Captain Fico and the Explorer got into the action on November 12 with this excellent Dorado score.

Mark Cooney and Paul Tilton posted a pair of perfect catches with Captain Fico on the 11th. This meaty Amberjack lead off the scoring:

The memorable fish was this floor-sweeping Dorado.

Proof again that you don’t need a big boat to catch big fish in Costa Rica!
The Explorer delivered the trip of a lifetime for Jess King and Elizabeth Rasch on August 22. Here’s how she told the story on social media:

“Our last day in Costa Rica was an all day off shore fishing trip, and it was one of the best ones! Elizabeth Rasch and I both caught a Blue Marlin!!”

“Hers was 450 lbs and the biggest catch of the day out of all the boats! Took her an hour to get it in!!”
“Shortly after I got another Yellow Fin Tuna!!”

“This has been the most amazing trip of a lifetime!! I will be returning!!”
The next day Jess King and Elizabeth Rasch returned and this time focused on Dorados.

Later in the trip the moved inshore and nabbed a wonderful Rooster Fish release, using this fresh caught Bonita as bait.

Chad Grimes joined the Explorer for a morning half day on August 18, and they performed brilliantly close to shore. For the dinner table they nagged this nice Dorado.

Then near the end of the session they released this wonderful Rooster Fish.

The Explorer welcomed Jess King and Elizabeth Rasch for a fun fishing campaign on August 17.

They kept the rods bent with multiple Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas.

“First ever off shore fishing trip in Costa Rica,” wrote Jess on social media. “It was a blast! Caught 3 Yellow Fin Tuna and 2 Dorado!! Seen hundreds of dolphins and a sea turtle!”
