John Horger scored the biggest Broomtail Grouper of the season so far on February 14.
Want a Grouper sandwich? How about a 10-foot party Grouper sub? We’ll have plenty of filets, thanks to the mega Panga Harvester!
Captain David welcomed angler Carl Lindberg to the Adventurerย on the 5th for a great day of fish harvesting.
These nice Red Groupers were backed up by an array of Yellowfin Tunas and White Tunas.
Cameron Card reports excellent action on May 15 with Captain David on the Adventurer.
Big Red Groupers were on the menu and the 23-foot switchblade was there to clean up the plate.
Ceviche, anyone?
The amazing Adventurer continues to astound with another sweet Sailfish release.
Captain David has shattered expectations with his recent run of releases on the 23-foot switchblade. He also scored a wonderful Rooster fish release backed up by several nice Groupers on ice.
Captain David welcomed client Jan Schroers for a fantastically productive half-day of fishing with 10 Red Groupers in the fishbox.
Anybody ready for a grouper sandwich? How about a few dozen?
After scoring offshore the day before, Captain Fico returned inshore and delivered this fat Broomtail Grouper for his clients.
Captain David’s performance this month has smashed the boat record, and on February 24 he continued his dominance with four Groupers caught and a Sailfish release with client Mike Nobles.
Our old pal Jay Thompson has been fishing on the Explorer since the inception of Super panga fishing, but on March 13 he let his visiting brother-in-law handle the fish catching duties. Captain Carlos took the Explorer offshore and found an amazing Sailfish.
Mate Fico had no problem handling this beast.
Later they added this small Broomtail Grouper to the fishbox. Excellent filets to go with the trophy release.
Shannon and Pam Emery followed up their incredible first day of fishing with a monster of a different sort; yesterday they beat up big billfish but today they dropped bait to the bottom and bested this beastly Broomtail Grouper:
Wow! This monster is estimated by the crew to weigh well over 70lbs. That’s a lot of grouper sandwiches for sure!
“This day was planned to do some inshore for rooster, snapper and grouper. The day was almost a bust because of the rain and color of the water. With 15 minutes remaining the crew got me hooked into a big Broomtail Grouper that we got to the boat despite my letting him get back into the rocks.”
Great work by the crew of the mighty Wanderer, the boat that doesn’t know the meaning of the phrase “off season”.
The Wanderer took her reign of supremacy to the inshore reef and reports a wide variety of tasty fare in the fish box for client Ivan and his group. The Penn Spinfisher 7500 was the weapon of choice this trip and First Mate Alex deployed a cloud of fresh Bonita chunks that the bottom fish could not resist.
A small Snapper and an Amberjack were the first casualties and unlike it’s Atlantic brethren these AJs are very good to eat. Not to be out done the ladies got into the fight and conquered an even bigger Snapper. Way to go!
The big score of the trip as far as weight goes is this lovely Broomtail Grouper estimated at 20lbs. This is some of the best-tasting fish in the world and is certainly a treat for these anglers.
Lastly this Rock Snapper is one of the best examples we have seen of such a specimen and believe me it tastes just as good as it looks.
