Everyone know the the Hernรกndez family is synonomous with FishingNosara. That’s why is was a great honor to welcome Maria Montiel Hernรกndez for a fun fishing vactaion in late January.
Over on the Explorer, Maria nabbed a nice Yellowfin Tuna.
She also had fun at the River Mouth as Javier aka Maria’s cousin aka Rey Robalo brought two more Snooks under his domain.

Javier aka Rey Robalo marked the new year with this excellent Snook release on the Rio Nosara.
Joined by Dario aka Prรญncipe Robalo,ย we are stoked to see Javier back in action at the River Mouth.
Up in the mountains, Javier and his family are known to catch fish from the river. Check out this tiny Snook catch from July 25.
Obviously we released this minnow, but hope to seem him downstream in a few years when he is worthy of a battle with Rey Robalo.
Our crew has been busting their butts on the Casa Bianca build, so they took a Saturday morning trip inshore to clear their minds and fill the refrigerator.
Javier, Antonio, and Cruz Reyes used old-fashioned handline rigs to bring in these beautiful Cubera Snappers.
Looks like many families in Nosara will be eating well tonight.
It’s been a fantastic month of fishing at the mouth of the Rio Nosara.
Wilson Mendoza took a break from being the mate on theย Harvester to wet a line at the river mouth. The catch above was from November 14 and the pair below are from the 19th.
Then on November 27, Javier (Rey Robalo) and Mark Trevino nagged this wonderful 28lbs. Snook at sunset.
Always the conservationist, Javier released this monster alive and well.

The Snook bite has been excellent this month with lots of nice catches.

Local angler Pilito Montiel caught this amazing Snook at the Nosara River mouth.
Better still, he caught this monster on an old-school handlining rig.
Awesome catch!
Erick Burke had a fun day of catching at the Nosara River mouth on July 12.
“Killer trip last week,” wrote Erick. “Special thanks to Javier for showing me the ropes and mixing me in with the locals!”

Javier Hernandez aka Rey Robalo continued his reign with these awesome Snook scores on July 23.
His catches were more than a handful, with this Jack Crevelle (above) backed up with several monster Snooks.

Also local angler Casar Vargas pulled this monster Amberjack from the river mouth in mid-June.
