The Wanderer welcomed Blain Brookshire and Kim Davis for a trio of full days in late January, and they piled up the fishbox with lots of nice Dorados.
After filling the refrigerator on their first trip, they belted up for battle with some super Sailfish:
Naturally they replenished their Dorado stores later in the trip.
Returning angler John Horger also got in on the consistent blue water action in late January. These fat Dorados are a great way to keep this group fed during their week in Nosara.
They also nabbed a super Sailfish release for the trophy case.
Excellent work by Captian Carlos and Mate Kevin.
On January 28, FishingNosara Hall of Famer Dan Johnson took local friend Alexander the Coconut Man (Gato) for his first trip offshore on the Explorer.
They released three Sailfish, and caught two nice grande Dorados.
Fun time on the Explorer with Capitan Fico And Marinero Johnny (of the Wanderer, filling in at the Mate position)
Legendary Texas angler Jerome McKown added to his record with a gaggle of Sailfish releases with Captain Carlos on January 27.
Great work by Mate Kevin to safely wrangle and release these monsters.
Of course these boys weren’t going hungry…check out these excellent Dorado scores from the trip.
Our friend Rick Crosby and his pals had a big day with Captain Carlos on the 24th, highlighted by a pair of super Sailfish releases.
These baddies were backed up by several tasty Dorados.

The Wanderer enjoyed excellent fishing on January 20 with several Sailfish release backed up by big Dorados.
It’s great to see such good action by Jacksonville angler Becky Hogan’s group.

This excellent Sailfish release was backed up by several Dorados.
FishingNosara Hall of Famer and Northeast FishingNosara Representative Mark Cooney pulled off an amazing fishing feat with Captain David on January 18th…what, you’ve never battled a Sailfish on a 23-foot panga with a tiller-steered motor?
Then he grabbed a second Sailfish!
Backed up by lots of great Dorado, this is a picture-perfect day for the Adventurer!
The Discoverer did well on the 14th with angler Ed Evansen reporting an excellent variety of catches.
An early batch of Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas was capped off with a nice Sailfish release.
Captain Alex was deep in the battle on January 14 as client Kevin Poindexter threw down with an sweet Blue Marlin.
Mate Kevin estimated this beast at a little over 300lbs. Safe released alive and kicking as usual.
The big Marlin was the headliner, but it was supported by this excellent Sailfish release.
This high-flyer put on a nice show with lots of above-the-water action.
They finally outlasted this Sailfish, and brought home lots of nice photos of the fight.
This group rounded out their day with a nice Dorado and a sweet Yellowfin Tuna. Good thing, because it’s easy to work up a big appetite when catching all day long!
