As always it’s great to see a young angler sink his teeth into blue water fishing.

We always say that you don’t need a big boat to catch big fish in Costa Rica, and angler JC Mas proved that point with Captain David on the 23-foot Adventurer with this excellent Sailfish release on March 12:
Tiller-steer panga boat catching world-class billfish? Only in Nosara!
John and Alice Hagaman joined the Brent Cockerham group for a blistering day of action on the Harvester, highlighted by a swarm of Rooster Fish releases.
While they were offshore they nabbed several nice Dorados for the dinner table.
The cherry on top of this sundae was this beautiful Rooster Fish release.
Great work by Captain Alex!
On March 11, angler Charles Platz joined the Marlin club with this monstrous Blue Marlin release:
The battleship backed it up with four Sailfish releases throughout the day.
Great work by the big battleship!
Kenny Strickler was back on the Wanderer in March on the 11th and they flagship continued to impress; check out these super Sailfish releases.
Fantastic work by these Virginia anglers.
The Harvester has been reaping the rewards of the early Spring blue water blitz.
Angler Rachel Gouin and her group wore out the scoreboard with sweet releases. Check out this high-flying monster:
These Sailfish are true sea-monsters, and are full of fight!
The ultimate catches of the trip came with this simultaneous hook-up:
Rick Noonan returned on the 10th and continued to score Sailfish releases.
Here’s the email Rick sent us after his trip:
“Craig,”
“Wanted to say Thank You for putting me together with Fico. Not very chatty but he put me 10 sailfish (8 landed) 1 Blue Marlin (landed) and a baby Wahoo (dinner).”
“My first billfish experience and I was blown away. A Danish buddy joined me on Saturday, zero saltwater fishing experience, as it turned out he got to fight the Marlin (my bucket list fish). Fish of a lifetime for him. That said I will be back to find that Marlin again.”
“Thanks again for a great two days of fishing.”

Captain Carlos fished hard in early March, culminating with a quartet of sweet Sailfish releases on the 10th.
Katie Paulsen’s group performed beautifully on these great billfish releases.
March 10 was family-fun time, and Brent Cockerham’s family was up to the challenge.
The whole crew got a crack a Pacific Sailfish, with multiple releases filling up the Wanderer‘s scorecard.
Great work by this Texas-based fishing family!
We are so close to the blue water that sometimes real magic can happen. Consider this report from March 9:
Rick Noonan headed offshore about 10 miles to the deep blue water, and immediately started scoring billfish.
Several nice Sailfish releases were backed up by a feisty Striped Marlin release.
Rather than stay offshore to pursue another Marlin (thus securing the ultra-rare Billfish Grand Slam), Captain Fico headed inshore and scored another trophy: This excellent Rooster fish.
The Explorer continues to amaze!
