Captain Fico on the Explorer delivered another great trip to Mr. and Mrs. Juan Levesque on July 25. Big Sailfish releases provided the excitement on this trip.
However these Florida anglers melted some ice, thanks to this big Yellowfin Tuna.
Kathleen Clarke came to us as a novice angler, but after her trip on the Discoverer she has cut her teeth as a big-time blue water angler.
These Sailfish put on a great show and the releases were quick and easy.
She wrote us a very nice email:
“Just wanted to let you know that we had an incredibly amazing time on our fishing trip. ย I donโt think that it could have been any better. ย Captain Carlos and Kevin were stellar – I would highly recommend that crew to anyone. ”
“All 5 in our party caught fish and we were not expecting to. ย Kevin kept the boat very clean and tidy and made sure that we all had everything that we needed. ย Lunch was excellent also, as was the fruit. ย We caught a mix of mahi-mahi and sailfish. We saw porpoises and turtles too.”
For those still clinging to the old notion that the fishing in Costa Rica is not white-hot in July, please check out this July 22 trip from the Harvester with angler Carlyle Smith.
This monster Marlin was just the tip of the iceberg.
A big time Sailfish wasn’t far behind, and the mega panga was there to pull her in.
Another great Sailfish also found its way to the Harvester.
Normally a big day full of billfish releases would be all that you need, but why not add some big Dorado filets for the fishbox?
Oh and in case you are wondering, all of these catch came on just a 6.5 hour trip…imaging if they had gone for a full eight hours!
