The big battleship nagged a rare and elusive Striped Marlin release on December 18:

In addition to the safe release, Captain Carlos and theย Discoverer boated a nice array of Dorados for the filet bag.

Multiple time FishingNosara Hall of Famer Morgan Trible has returned, and this time his buddy Charley Smith is stoked to be along for the adventure.

This monster Striped Marlin release was the highlight of the trip.

They also added some sweet Sailfish releases.

For the dinner table, these Virginia-based anglers brought home the bacon. By bacon, I mean excellent Yellowfin Tuna filets.

On November 15 John Grumino hit paydirt on the Harvester.

They got right into the thick of the action with this nice Blue Marlin release and a Striped Marlin release.

Amazing action for these Garden State anglers.
Ship of Fools Tournament stalwarts Ivan DeLuca and Jimmy Nichols returned to theย Discoverer on December 15 and put on a show! Check out these multiple Marlin releases:

For what it’s worth, that will be worth 1500 points come tournament time in April. They also brought home dinner with a big Dorado backed up by Yellowfin Tuna.

We are so close to the blue water that sometimes real magic can happen. Consider this report from March 9:
Rick Noonan headed offshore about 10 miles to the deep blue water, and immediately started scoring billfish.

Several nice Sailfish releases were backed up by a feisty Striped Marlin release.

Rather than stay offshore to pursue another Marlin (thus securing the ultra-rare Billfish Grand Slam), Captain Fico headed inshore and scored another trophy: This excellent Rooster fish.

The Explorer continues to amaze!
Great things are worth waiting for, and angler Mike Goins sent us some photos from his late February trips that are absolutely mind-blowing. First up is this nice Striped Marlin release from his trip on the 27-foot Explorer:

They he also nearly missed a Grand Slam on the Discoverer with this excellent Striped Marlin release backed up by a Sailfish release.

Great work by this fun-loving fisherman!
On March 1, multi-time Hall of Famer Dan Johnson joined the Wanderer and scored a Sailfish release and a Striped Marlin release.

Mr. Johnson has been fishing here for years, and even for an angler of his caliber this is an excellent day of action.

Fantastic work by the mighty flagship!
Our new buddy Steve Persinger scored the fish of a lifetime with this super Striped Marlin release on February 7.

Captain Carlos kept the Discoverer in the thick of the action, added this excellent Sailfish release:

Great fish handling by Mate Kevin ensures that we’ll see these beasts again one day.
FishingNosara Hall of Famers Catherine Chase and Ron LaGro added to their legend on January 19 with Captain William. This sweet Striped Marlin led off a great day of action:

After Catherine’s release, Ron added a super Sailfish release.

They rounded out the morning with a nice stack of Dorado filets.

Mary Jane Shanklin was back in action on the 15th, and this time they added to their Dorado scored from early in the week with this excellent Striped Marlin release.

They also scored big on Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas.

Amazing work by the mega panga!
