On March 4, we welcomed Jason Frelich’s group for the first day of a three-day offshore campaign. The highlight of the trip was this monster Dorado

Throughout the day, theย Harvester was beset by hard-charging Sailfish. Several multiple hookups with safe releases all around.

Some small Yellowfin Tunas rounded out the haul; what a great start to the week for Team Frelich.

Captain Alex and Brad Watson’s boys got into it with a bunch a bad blue water beasties on the 27th. Big Dorados were iced throughout the day.

Once again we have proof that the more FishingNosara swag you wear on the boat, the more the fish cooporate.

Meanwhile, theย Harvester was on the the hunt for some of the swarm of Sailfish swimming near our shores.

February 25, 2021

Captain Alex has the mega panga Harvester firing on all cylinders, and on the 25th welcomed Doug and Dan Rubino to the party.

Once again Sailfish was the primary catch of the day with seven releases on the scorecard.

FishingNosara’s Northeast Rep Mark Cooney was on board to share in the fun.

Excellent work by Mate Wilson to safely handle and release all of these wonderful creatures.

Phil Egan’s hot streak continued on February 18. Here is the email he sent us after the trip:

Hey there Craig –

Had another killer day on the 5 hr trip on the Harvester yesterday. 3-4 miles out we had our first sail hooked up – the guys were still setting up and only had the shotgun line in the water.

Went on to go 5 for 7 on sails and 1 for 2 on dorado (24 lbs). That boat is a bad ass fishing machine!

Thanks for 3 great days of fishing. The boats and crews are all top notch. The guys all fish hard and with enthusiasm.

I can’t help but think they’ve all probably caught thousands of sails in their lifetimes, but treat each hookup with the excitement of it being their first.

Until next year!

Phil Egan
