Captain Alex continued to deliver on January 26 with the Trible / Smith group scoring several sweet Sailfish releases.
The Discoverer was excited to welcome back Ted Markow’s family for a return trip to the blue water.
Just like their trip last year, Team Markow did great. They enjoyed a fun Sailfish release, then nagged big Dorados.
They also battled a Blue Marlin but it spit the hook before it could be billed.
“Kevin and Carlos know what they are doing,” wrote Ted. “I watched Kevin prepping the equipment and bait on the ride out. He pays attention to details. Carlos sees the fish when they are going after the attractors. Kevin brings the bait close to the fish in order to hook them. They did not miss many fish.”
“What great memories for my 15 year old and 11 year old daughters. Not may 15 year old girls can say they fought a 200lb plus blue marlin for almost 30 minutes.”
“Great times!”
Multiple time FishingNosara Hall of Famer Morgan Trible has returned, and this time his buddy Charley Smith is stoked to be along for the adventure.
This monster Striped Marlin release was the highlight of the trip.
They also added some sweet Sailfish releases.
For the dinner table, these Virginia-based anglers brought home the bacon. By bacon, I mean excellent Yellowfin Tuna filets.
The Hernandez Family Vacation took to the Discoverer on the 23rd, as three generations of the family all caught fish.
Sra. Jesus is well-known to our guests who have visited her house on the Horseback Mountain tour, and now it appears that Yellowfun Tuna is on the menu.
Young Dario finished off the evening with another nice Yellowfun Tuna.
Captain Fico delivered the goods for anglers Wendy Oberg and Richard Wenk on the 22nd. They started out with an inauspicious first catch as this bird stole a bait from behind the boat.
After the bird was sefely released, these anglers scored a tasty Yellowfin Tuna for the dinner table.
Then the Explorer moved inshore and captured this lovely Rooster Fish.
Safe released as always. Great work by these Wisconsin-based anglers on a short 5hr. trip.
Everyone know the the Hernández family is synonomous with FishingNosara. That’s why is was a great honor to welcome Maria Montiel Hernández for a fun fishing vactaion in late January.
Over on the Explorer, Maria nabbed a nice Yellowfin Tuna.
She also had fun at the River Mouth as Javier aka Maria’s cousin aka Rey Robalo brought two more Snooks under his domain.
Looking good!
Mate Wilson of the Harvester loves to fish so much that even on his day off, you can find him scouting around Garza bay.
This juvinile Rooster Fish was caught on light tackle from our 14-foot Transporter, and obviously was released after the photo.
Captain William welcomed Grant Hawes and his group of South Carolina anglers for a fantastic day of action on January 19.
This Sailfish releases was backed up with a nice array of Dorados.
This big hoss was the highlight of the day; when Captain William gets in the photo, you know its a big catch.
Great work by the flagship Wanderer!
Captain Carlos was joined by our good friend Kevin Campbell on the 19th, and this Alaska-based angler put on a show with multiple Sailfish releases.
The Discoverer also reports a catch of the elusive Wahoo. These silver bullets are tough fighters and yield incredible tasty steaks.
They also added a decent Yellowfin Tuna to round out the haul.
Dean Hayes finished up his whirlwind fishing campaing on the 18th with Captain Alex reporting a banner day of Sailfish releases.
Lovely photos of this safe release. It’s always thrilling to see this action a few feet off the transom.
Great work all-around by the mega panga.
