Captain Fico has continued to strengthen his game, especially when it comes to scoring on multiple species in a single trip. On March 5 he filled the fishbox with:
Jack Crevalle,
Cubera Snapper,
…and the tasty Cierro Mackeral. Great results from the boat that is always on the fish.
The Wanderer changed things up on March 4 by staying inshore and plying the reefs just outside Garza Bay.
A nice Rooster fish release was the first fish of the day, safe released like always.
Fast on the heels of this pez gallo release was another Rooster fish, this one much bigger than the first.
The third Rooster was the biggest of them all…check out the fight in the feathered fish!
Near the end of the trip they boated this MASSIVE Amberjack.
Great inshore action on the famous Wanderer!
The Roger Bowgen group split up between the Discoverer and Wanderer on March 2 and the youth movement was on with Captain William.
The boys scored a nice streak of Sailfish releases.
Everyone in the group got a crack at these sweet Sails, and the team scored eight total releases on the day.
The Discoverer kept the Roger Bowgen group on the leaderboard with this nice Sailfish released on March 2.
Great fish handling by Mate Juan Carlos to see this beauty released.
Roger Bowgen and his posse returned to the Wanderer for a fantastic full day trip to the blue water.
Last trip they scored a bunch of Marlin releases, and on this trip they put a whipping on a nice number of Pacific Sailfish
They scored two early releases, then got a taste of the Wanderer‘s true might with a Double Sailfish release.
The action stayed strong all day, with eight total Sailfish releases by sundown.
February 28 brought great action on the Wanderer as she scored another Double Sailfish release…that’s two in one week!
This day also included three solo Sailfish releases, making for a banner end to a great month of action.
The Wanderer finished the month with another high-flying Sailfish battle.
This monster gave the flagship everything she wanted, but the Wanderer prevailed with a safe Sailfish release.
Returning Hall of Famer Dennis Seltsam tried his hand on the new Discoverer for a few trips in late February. Joined by Bill and Mary Elms, this Kentucky angler scored big on a variety of species.
This big Dorado was the highlight, but they also nabbed Sailfish, Snapper, and Yellowfin Tuna
The inshore bite stayed strong for Captain Fico has he guided this young angler to an excellent Yellowfin Tuna.
These 20-25lbs. Yellas usually show up in the summer, so it’s a nice treat to see one this early in the year.
The Wanderer welcomed Dennis Cinquino for some super Sailfish action.
What a great fight! Safe released as usual by First Mate Alex means another notch on Captain William’s Sailfish scorecard.
