For those still clinging to the old notion that the fishing in Costa Rica is not white-hot in July, please check out this July 22 trip from the Harvester with angler Carlyle Smith.
This monster Marlin was just the tip of the iceberg.
A big time Sailfish wasn’t far behind, and the mega panga was there to pull her in.
Another great Sailfish also found its way to the Harvester.
Normally a big day full of billfish releases would be all that you need, but why not add some big Dorado filets for the fishbox?
Oh and in case you are wondering, all of these catch came on just a 6.5 hour trip…imaging if they had gone for a full eight hours!
Juan Levesque and the Wanderer loaded up on filets with a bunch of Dorados and Yellowfin Tunas on ice during their trip on July 22.
Our new friend Juan Levesque got off to a hot start in late July with a great day on the Explorer.
First up was this small Rooster Fish release.
Then the super panga headed offshore and pulled off a sweet Sailfish release.
They also put some excellent filets on ice, thanks to a pair of awesome Cubera Snappers.
Great work by Captain Fico and the barroom brawler Explorer!
The Wanderer and angler Brady Ballard were locked and loaded for a fun day offshore on July 21.
Early Sailfish action gave way to big Yellowfin Tuna scores later in the day.
Great work by Captain William and the mighty Wanderer!
Local angler Pilito Montiel caught this amazing Snook at the Nosara River mouth.
Better still, he caught this monster on an old-school handlining rig.
Awesome catch!
FishingNosara Hall of Famer Dennis Paul returned to the Wanderer on July 20 and added to his legendary reputation with more great Sailfish action.
Dennis always catches fish, and these pelagic predators are a great addition to his resume.
On the 19th, the Explorer welcomed Rob Youngman and his family for a quick five-hour trip to the blue water, and the 28-foot fighter knocked out several sweet Sailfish releases.
Even on a short day the Explorer delivers the goods!
The white-hot billfish bite continued on July 19 with Captain Alex reporting a mammoth day for angler Steve Balz and his boys. This monster Blue Marlin was the highlight of the trip:
The Marlin was backed-up by this great Sailfish release:
Of course the boys didn’t go home empty-handed, as a squad of tasty Dorados found their way to the fishbox.
Awesome work by the mega panga Harvester.
Brady Ballard joined up with the Discoverer on the 19th and was treated to excellent offshore action, starting with this World-Class Blue Marlin release:
Late in the day snagged these big Dorados:
Sweet Sailfish releases followed, rounding out a perfect day of fishing.
Great job by Captain Carlos and Mate Kevin!
