Great work young man!
Captain David kept the rods bent on August 10th with a big Jack Crevelle backed-up by 10 nice-sized Yellowfin Tunas
South Carolina Outdoors’ host Bill Haire finished off his week in Nosara with a fish-filled day on the Wanderer.
Young Mr. Haire got the day rolling with a 15lbs. Yellowfin Tuna backed up with this feisty Sailfish release.
Bill’s cameraman finally got his chance on the reel, and performed brilliantly with a second Sailfish release:
Bill Haire got a lesson in Ballyhoo rigging from Captain David (on loan from the Adventurer in the Mate position).
Then put those Ballyhoo to work with another nice billfish battle.
This is a great finish to their week of filming and we look forward to sharing the finished episodes with the anglers of South Carolina and beyond.
Justin Cannon and his son had a memorable day of fishing on August 3.
This Yellowfin Tuna provided nice filets, while this Sailfish release is a great angling achievement.
August 3rd was a banner day for angler Peter Petrassi and his group. They scored Sailfish early and often.
These fish were fired-up and put our tackle to the test…this rod wasn’t up to snuff:
Mate Kevin was busy all day keeping these billfish under control and safely released.
Everyone got multiple shots at these wonderful pelagic behemoths.
To top it off they scored a double Dorado hook-up and brought home lots of nice filets for dinner.

Trent Mabe and his family posted a banner day on August 2 with Captain William.
The day started quickly with several wonderful meat fish including these sweet Yellowfin Tunas.
Then they boated an awesome Dorado; this is one of the biggest of the season!
With the boat riding low in the water from all the filets, there’s no way Captain William would take it further offshore to hunt Marlin, right?
Wrong!
This big bad Black Marlin threw down the gauntlet late in the day and the Wanderer was up to the challenge
Awesome day by the mighty flagship!
Peter Petrassi had a big day on August 1 with Captain Fico on the Explorer, highlighted by this 350lbs. Marlin release:
They also scored a big Yellowfin Tuna backed up by a nice Dorado…plenty of filets for dinner this week!
Texas angler Marte Martinez brought his whole family down to Nosara for a fun week of fishing action, and the Harvester delivered the goods on their trip in early August.
The highlight of the trip was an awesome Sailfish release, expertly captured and released by Mate Kevin.
We are honored to welcome Bill Haire and his family to Nosara. They are filming episodes of their highly-acclaimed television show South Carolina Outdoors
Their first day of fishing on the Discoverer featured a 50+lbs. Dorado (above) and this excellent Sailfish:
