The Wanderer scored big on the inshore reefs with a pair of Rooster Fish releases on a morning half day.
That may be the biggest Rooster of the season so far, and the second one was no slouch:
Our main man Arturo took a break from running the North Guiones Beach office to do a little ‘research’ with Captain Fico on the Adventurer.
The little big man scored this hefty Rooster fish, then followed it up with a tasty Cubera Snapper for the dinner table.
Great work by Numero Uno!
The Adventurer scored big again on March 21st will a wide haul of filets.
They scored a Cubera Snapper early in the trip and followed in up with a beefy Cierro Mackeral.
This is certainly an above-average size for this tasty species. The final fish of the day was another big Cubera.
Small boat, big fish…just another day for the 23-foot Adventurer.
Thomas and Ruth Martin kept the Wanderer‘s hot streak running on March 21 with a morning full of Rooster Fish releases and the afternoon swarmed with Sailfish.
Captain William got to Sailfish City right on time for the 1pm bite and these high-flying pelagics gave Thomas and the boys all they wanted!
Safe released like always by First Mate Alex.
The Wanderer has been filling the trophy case with releases all week, but the filets have been a little scarce. Fortunately, client David Rybas elected to stay inshore on March 20 and his group laid the smack down on a bunch of big Cubera Snappers.
This first one is enough to feed Garza for the day, but the next two that came in could feed all of Guanacaste!
Amazing haul by the mighty Wanderer.
It was Sailfish day on the Discoverer as Eddie Showalter’s group scored a bunch of sweet pez vela releases:
They were coming in on all sides but Captain David and Mate Juan Carlos kept the pressure on, yielding great results.
The Wanderer had an afternoon half day trip on the 19th, which is plenty of time for Captain William and First Mate Alex to notch the billfish scorecard.
Nice work by the blue beauty!
Ken and Brenda Russell’s group posted another stellar day of action on March 18, highlighted by this incredible Marlin release by angler Misti Nolan.
They also snagged a Sailfish release and a nice Dorado while they were offshore.
Excellent Dorado score by Larry Komenda:
Captain William didn’t rest on his laurels on this 8 hour trip, as he made it back inshore in time to squeeze another magnificent fish into the day.
Great Rooster fish…certainly looks like it still has some fight in it!
Captain Fico has the Adventurer dialed-in and clients are reaping the rewards. Check out this excellent Rooster fish release:
They also scored a nice 25lbs. Cubera Snapper for the fishbox.
Great action from the powerful pocket-knife.
Our good friend Eddie Showalter returned to Costa Rica for another foray into the blue water, and brought his friends Mike Neeland and Laura Lanoue.
Laura was thrilled to see that one of her prior conquests is immortalized in our Guiones Beach Office.
She repeated her Sailfish success on the Discoverer with this outstanding release:
She also added a fine Rooster fish release, and got an up close look at a mean old shark.
Safely returned to the water by Mate Juan Carlos, this pez gallo is quite a fish-catching accomplishment.
