Bruce Birkett ain’t scared of some hardcore fishing action, and he proved that by signing up Captain Carlos and the Adventurer for five straight day of action. On their first excursion Mr. Birkett slayed the some big Dorados. Check out the king of the crop:

We are excited for Bruce’s good action so far and are pumped up to see what he can make happen on the 23′ Panga this week. Stay tuned!

Gary Stabb and his son took a quick 2.5 hour spin on the Adventurer today and came home with a very nice Spanish Mackeral and a tasty permit to boot. That’s a killer combo for sushi, filets, or even ceviche.

If these guys don’t know how lucky they got with these fish it’s because they haven’t made it to the dinner table yet. Excellent work by the Stabb boys and Captain Carlos of the tremendous Adventurer.

Spread the word to the local billfish popluation…the Adventurer has struck again! Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine that a 23 foot panga with tiller steering would stand up to the mighty Pacific Sailfish that populate our stretch of water, but the fearless Captain Carlos proved that last month’s sailfish release with Josh Walker was no fluke.

What a beast! Hats off to Captain Carlos for coordinating the strike, fight, and most importantly safe release of this majestic marine monster.

The angler for this release was from Marta Baez’ family and you can see from these excellent photos that this legendary Sailfish release was only part of their unforgettable Costa Rican vacation.

The absolutely wore it out in Nosara: ziplines, kayaks, horses, and of course one of the most memorable Sailfish releases of the season.

Pura Vida to the Baez Family!

Fresh sushi today for client Matt Lukof and his group on the Adventurer. Captain Carlos has the little 23-foot straight razor sharpened to a finely honed edge and on this trip sliced and diced his way to a full fishbox.

Amanda got thing rolling with this excellent Jack Crevelle, and if you notice in the background Matt a fish on the line as well. By trip’s end they had caught  two Yellowfin Tunas, a Barbero Snapper and 7 Bonitos. That is fantastic action for just a 5 hour trip.

Great work Captain Carlos and the devastatingly diminutive Adventurer.

Amazing report from the pocket knife Adventurer…Captain Carlos reports that the 23 foot Panga has released her first billfish, a terrific Pacific Sailfish!

Client Josh Walker hook-up up a 100+ lbs. Sailfish on a surface feather about 1 mile from shore. With glass water and calm conditions, there was no stopping Captain Carlos from taking the Adventurer a little more offshore than usual. The water clarity was obviously a huge factor in this strike.

Captain Carlos masterfully coordinated the hook-up and the fight, but most importantly saw to the safe and careful release of this awesome fish.

Now most Captains would be satisfied calling it a day on the heels of this massive acheivement, but Carlos is known for squeezing every drop of action out of a fishing day.

Josh scored five nice-sized Dorados before the Sailfish strike, then later in the day dropped a line to the reef bottom and hauled in this amazing Cubera Snapper.

A trophy fish released and lots 0f filets to go with it. Let’s hope this is a sign of the kind of fishing our clients can expect from Captain Carlos and the never-say-die Adventurer.

Today was  a very productive half day outing for Jeff Saint on the nimble new Adventurer. They set up shop just outside of Garza Bay and found fertile fishing grounds over a piece of floating debris.

Jeff pulled five Dorados and eight Bonitas from under the driftwood and then Captain Carlos took them a little further inshore and deployed a scaled-down version of the devastating Planer / Spoon rig (see right side of photo). This tasty Jack Crevelle was the result.

Captain Carlos is a hungry fisherman who squeezes every drop of action out of his fishing days. Another great wall-to-wall report from the hard-charging Adventurer.
