Wayne Estes and Samantha Shaw scored big on their first day of fishing on the Discoverer.
This hard-fightin’ Sailfish was the highlight of the trip:
The Discoverer is back in action and Captain Carlos scored a quartet of fearsome Sailfish for his clients.
Vesa Luomaranta and her group were all smiles after these four trophy fish releases.
Great work by Captain Carlos and Mate Juan Carlos on the battleship!
We love all out clients, but it is a special treat when we can welcome a professional charter captain and his group to our little stretch of blue water paradise.
Marvin Steiding brought the whole crew from his South Florida-based Reel Candy Sportfishing operation for a few days of blue water action on the Discoverer.
After some early success on Sailfish, they brought it inshore and scored big on Rooster fish.
This Pacific species is certainly a fun catch for these Jupiter, FL based pros.
They also added a few Dorados for the dinner table…great action all around for the Reel Candy team!
The Discoverer is still fishing during September while almost every other boat in the country is on the hill…just because fisherman take a break for the rainy season doesn’t mean the fish do.
Ryan Torbert and his posse proved it on September 14 when they scored a pair of Rooster fish releases. The first one was a bit puny, but the second was a very respectable 20+lbs.
Nice work by the battleship!
Multi-time FishingNosara Hall of Famer Bill Harris brought another posse of Tampa-area anglers for a week of blistering blue water action.
They booked the Wanderer and Discoverer for three days in early September.
We are still awaiting full reports, but for now lets check out the highlights, primarlily this sweet Black Marlin release on the Wanderer:
Bill Harris himself added a nice Sailfish release early on the first day, which was certainly a sign of things to come:
Over on the Discoverer Eli Bedran KO’d a nice Sailfish:
There were lots of bending rods and crushed beer cans all week long. Great work by this fun-loving group!
The Discoverer has built a reputation as a billfish battleship, and on September 2 they scored a pair of Sailfish releases.
The blue water has retreated a little farther out from shore, expanding the area where the behemoths can hide…but there is no escaping Captain David and his view from the top of the Discoverer‘s tower.
Great work on these excellent releases.
Captain David scored a MAMMOTH Blue Marlin with client Chad Grimes of North Carolina on August 22.
This beast is every bit of 300lbs. and is truly the fish-of-a-lifetime.
They followed up with a nice Sailfish release later in the day.
Fantastic work by Captain David, Mate Juan Carlos, and Fico from the Adventurer.
Captain David is dialed-in on the Discoverer and his clients reaped the rewards this month.
Sailfish releases have been plentiful, headlined by this 200lbs.+ monster:
The big battleship backed that up with several more great releases:
Meat fish have been on the menu for Captain David’s clients, with Yellowfin Tuna ranging from 20lbs. to well over 50lbs.
Most recently Craig scored a sweet Rooster Fish release:
Mike Gilbert’s posse kept the pedal to the metal on the Discoverer as Captain David put them on a swarm of Sailfish on July 31.
Great releases by anglers of all ages on the battleship!
Our new friend Thomas Caracciolo came down for some fun offshore action and saw nice action on the Discoverer.
After an early Sailfish release, they set themselves up for some nice dinners with Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado filets on ice:
