Captain Fito is a great choice for family anglers looking to get a great start to blue water fishing. Check out this great trip from April 30:
At the end of the trip, the Adventurer was stewarded home by a pack of friendly porpoises.
Charlie Phillips and his crew are back, and they wasted little time in breaking the billfish ice.
Captain William found a massive school of spinning porpoises and we know what that means: big billfish are near!
Great start to the week by the mighty flagship!
Our friend John Garris had a blast on the Explorer with the dynamic brother duo of Captain Carlos and Mate Kevin. Joined by Jeff Grosshandler, they scored a pair of Sailfish releases backed up by a nice Dorado.
They also captured this excellent footage of Dolphins flanking the Super Panga:
Hulsey Bray signed up the mighty Wanderer for a full day excursion on November 24 and once again the blue beauty delivered the goods. Captain William used the time-honored hunting tactic of following schools of spinning dolphin to the target zone.
As the smartest creature in the sea and man’s closest genetic marine equivalent, dolphins are a fisherman’s ally because they corral smaller baitfish into spherical pods.
These pods are feeding beacons to larger pelagics (Yellowfin Tuna, Sailfish, Marlin, etc.) so it’s no suprise that Hulsey pulled this monster Pacific Sailfish right out from under the feeding frenzy.
This beast is estimated to weigh 100lbs. and is a sign of good fishing to come in the next few weeks. Another great release by the famous Wanderer.
Chuck Powell and Chris Landis were back on the Wanderer for another great day of fishing. Captain William put the boys on a school of spinning dolphins and everyone knows that when dolphins are feeding the billfish are not far behind.
This excellent Sailfish was released by Chuck and was the highlight of the day. There was other action but no solid hook-ups; still this keeps our sailfish-a-day streak alive and we are looking forward to even more billfish in the near future.
Another safe release by First Mate Alex! Great work all-around by mates, anglers and Captain William.
The Wanderer is on fire this week with the scorecard showing lots of Sailfish releases heading into a full day trip with Dr. Robert Barrett and his crew from Orlando, FL. While on the way out to the blue water, Captain William spotted the telltale splash of a spinning porpoise school and we all know what that means…Yellowfin Tuna Frenzy!
The Florida boys deployed our arsenal of Williamson Jet Poppers into the mass of bubbling water and started pulling Yella Fellas in at a rapid-fire pace. They knocked out fourteen Yellowfin Tunas before moving on to the deep water.
The offshore Sailfish boulevard is still thick with pelagics as evidenced by Robert Barrett’s two monstrous releases. Great trip by Dr. Roberto and the posse…tons of good-eatin’ Yellas and a pair of world class billfish as well!
Captain Vibert Blanche took the brunt of the slow early March, but he has been picking it up in April and has kept steady with some great nature tours. On March 26th Stephanie Kawalik took a great Nature Tour. They saw more than 20 nice dolphins with different colors. Also, they got some pictures of a baleen (that’s Whale in Gringo) and a couple sea turtles.
