On March 3rd we welcomed back our new friend Hendrik Engel for another three rounds of billfish bouts.

This lovely Sailfish was a sign of good things to come as Mr. Engel really gathered up the release on the 5th.

Hendrik has only been fishing with us for about 6 months but he already has a reputation for lighting up the scoreboard every time he goes out.

Joe Rodriguez had a magnificent day on the Explorer as Captain David navigated the Super panga through a gauntlet of big fighting fish.

Nancy got in on the action too with a nice Sail release!

Here’s the email we got from Joe:

Hello Craig,

“I just wanted to send you an email and thank you for the top notch charter. David and his deckhand [Kevin] on the Explorer were great.”
“They are very focused, knowledgeable, and easy going. The boat was absolutely spotless! They obviously take great pride in what they do and represent FishingNosara very well.”

“The fishing was great as well. We landed 5 sailfish (1 at the leader and 4 at the boat) in a spectacular day of fishing.”

Thanks again,
Joe

Harris Savin finished his fishing adventurer with Captain David on the Explorer, only a special guest was on hand in the mate position: Captain Carlos of the Adventurer.

Carlos started Harris out on this great week of fishing, so it is only fitting that he see Mr. Savin finish strong.

Another day, another five Sailfish!

With this beefy White Tuna thrown in for dinner, I’d say this is the perfect end to a perfect week for Harris Savin!

Harris Savin continued his tour around the fleet with a visit to Captain David’s Explorer. The good times kept rollin’ for this fun-loving client on the Super panga.

Harris was joined by Roger Smith and together they released five more Sailfish.

Look at these shots…Great work on the camera by Harris!

As usual they added a late-day Dorado for the dinner table.

Harris is on a tear this week and we expect more great catches from this angler.

Ryan Harrington and Mackenzie Ruhnke came to Costa Rica to tie the knot, but these honeymooners found out that tied to the end of their knot was this 400+ Marlin:

Captain David cut down the angles on the high-flying beast while Ryan put tighten the the screws on her.

Mate Kevin kept this monster under control, and saw to a picture-perfect Marlin release.

Later in the day they scored a few Sailfish releases to round out the trip.

Great times on the Explorer for the new bride and groom!
