Jake Winchester has made himself a regular with the FishingNosara team with a half-dozen trips run in the last year. After a whole bunch of Extreme Panga Fishing he stepped up to the 31-foot Wanderer for his May 7 trip.

They tackled some tough Sailfish and notched the scorecard with two nice releases. This was the first time deep sea fishing for Tiffiney Walls from Enid, Oklahoma, but she fought this Sailfish like an old pro.

A special welcome awaited their return to Garza: this majestic Balena (‘whale’ in gringo) breeched the surface and slapped his tail, much to the delight of the clients.

Great fishing and great scenery on the big blue flagship Wanderer.

Jake Winchester brought along his girlfriend Laurie and his brother Dave for a very fruitful day of offshore trolling. The mighty Wanderer put on a show for the Sailfish swarm and gave this group a great trip.

Sailfish release

They nabbed and released three Sailfish early in the trip, then switched over the spread to target table fare.

“Laurie caught the first fish,” Jake wrote in an email . “It was the largest of the Dorados. My brother Iron Dave and I snagged 2 dorados at the same time.”

“In total we each caught a Dorado and Sailfish. Awesome fishing trip. William and Alex were awesome. Thank you so much!”

Jake Winchester had a blast on the mighty Wanderer today with Captain William and First Mate Alex. He brought his buddies Jeff Maly and John Savage for the trip and all hands were needed right away. They headed offshore to troll for billfish and out of four chances manages to catch and release one bad Pacific Sail

They also added a Yellowfin Tuna to the fishbox and this teeny Wahoo.

This “Wee-hoo” has the same distinctive glowing tiger stripes as his bigger brethren and would have made for one tasty sandwich had the boys not thrown him back. Hopefully we’ll see him again next year when he weighs 80lbs.
