Patrick Vincent is a good son…he snagged his father, brought him down to Nosara, and booked five full days of fishing on the Wanderer. They began their campaign against the blue water beasts on June 7, where the elder Mr. Vincent scored his first-ever Marlin release.

This Striped Marlin is estimate to weigh just over 125lbs., and was safely released by First Mate Alex.

Patrick followed up with a swell Sailfish release of his own.

Client Leonard Robinson of Utah joined the Explorer for his second time offshore on May 31 and scored a sweet Sailfish release. Safe released as always by Mate Kevin.

They also scored a handful of Yellowfin Tuna which yielded tasty dense filets.

Later on the beach they discovered a wayward handline rig; this staple of Costa Rican shore fishing is devestaingly simple and features a modern twist with a DOA Jighead.

“I had the experience of a lifetime thanks to the crew of the Explorer.” Leonard wrote in an email. “I will be a return customer!!! Pura Vida.”
The brother combo of Captain Carlos and Mate Kevin makes fishing on the Explorer a family affair, so what better place to bring the kids for an introduction to blue water fishing.

Decked out in her new FishingNosara hat, this little angler scored a big Sailfish with the super panga.

They released a few more Sails throughout this very memorable day on the water.

The Explorer has continued her hot streak during mid-May with a run of Hall of Fame worthy performance. First Captain Carlos scored this ridiculous Dorado with client Gary Fiveash:

Then they backed it up with a nice pair of Sailfish releases:

I love seeing the big Dorado tail jutting out of the fishbox…even Igloo doesn’t make coolers big enough for that Mahi!

The Discoverer found excellent action on May 12 with Georgia angler Glenn Schatzel.

In addition to three Yellow fin tunas they also scored two Sailfish releases.

Bob Carton put the finishing touch on a great week of fishing with a run of nice Sailfish releases.

The Wanderer also scored an excellent pair of Dorados for the dinner table.

Talk about a great end-of-week feast!
Captain David brought the house down with a two Marlin day on May 10.

Client Tony King and his group scored a small Striped Marlin estimated around 200lbs. and a larger Blue Marlin estimated at more than 350lbs.

They added a Sailfish to the scorecard to round-out a legendary day of fishing.

Great job by the battleship Discoverer!
More great Sailfish action on the flagship on May 9 with client Tony King.

This high-flyer put on a show for Tony, and the mighty Wanderer kept the pressure on all the way to a safe release.

Vicky Martinko provided the curtain call for her honeymoon fishing adventure on May 8 as Captain David set her up for a pair of trophy fish releases.

After an early morning Sailfish release, Captain David took the battleship inshore for a fantastic Rooster Fish release.

Great fish-handling by Mate Juan Carlos to get this fish back in the water after the photo…looks like Vicky did want to let go so easily!

They also scored a big Rock snapper for the dinner table.

Great end to a great week of fishing for these newlyweds!
