Client Bob Hartin and his group brought a great energy to the Wanderer today and on cue the mighty blue beauty delivered the goods for these fellas. Captain William headed offshore for deep water and the boys got off to a fast start.

This awesome Pacific Sailfish came roaring in just after 10am and with Bob on the reel and First Mate Alex coordinating the fight, this billfish release was smooth as silk.

With the trophy fish secure on the metaphorical mantle, the Wanderer switched to the deadly skipping ballyhoo rig and deployed a smaller hookset. The target species for this rig: Dorado!

Look at all the activity in the top of the water column. Captain William has a way of finding spots like this Marine Metropolis.

A trio of 35lbs. monsters were the highlights, but they had two more in the fishbox that weighed at least 25lbs.

Great fun fishing with this group of fired-up hombres…enjoy the filets fellas, but why not let Alex cut them off of the fish first?!

Steve Creasey will just not let up on these fish! After turning in two Hall of Fame performances in as many days, Mr. Creasey came back down to Earth with a normal fishing day…however ‘normal’ down here is still a world-class day anywhere else.

This Clearwater, FL angler added two more Pacific Sailfish releases to his scorecard plus added a trio of beefy Yellowfin Tunas to the fishbox.

Steve is set to finish his fishing vacation with Captain David on the Explorer after this excellent send-off for the Wanderer. Stay tuned!

After racking the biggest Cubera Snapper of the season over on the Explorer, Steve Creasey turned in another Hall of Fame – worthy performance on the mighty Wanderer. This Clearwater, FL based angler had five Sailfish in the spread and ended up releasing four of the mighty beasts.

The first three fish came calling all at once, and it took careful coordination between First Mate Alex in the cockpit and Captain William on the wheel to keep the three billfish from tangling.

Steve kept his cool and all three fish were no match for this crew. All billfish were safe released as always.ย 

He ended up the day with an additional Sailfish release and a tasty Dorado for the dinner table.

Steve is fired up and that spells trouble for the local marine population…he is only half-way through his fishing adventure and already has claimed two spots in the FishingNosara Hall of Fame. God knows what he has in store for the rest of the week. Stay tuned!

The Rick Blackburn and Chuck Harris group capped off their intense week of fishing with some near misses on legendary fish, but managed to salvage the day with four Dorados for the dinner table and one more Sailfish release.

Here’s Rick with at the Sailfish petting zoo. They raised a marlin on the teaser but couldn’t coax the big girl to eat. Still this was a great conclusion to a very active week of fishing.

You know Chuck had a blast because he has already booked his next Costa Rica fishing adventure…could Chuck Harris be the first three-time FishingNosara Hall of Famer? We’ll have to wait and see.

Things have stayed lit up for Chuck Harris and Rick Blackburn’s group as once again we have report of a mighty billfish released. This monster Sailfish came calling at 10am and was no match for this team of seasoned FishingNosara Hall of Famers.

Another safe release as always by First Mate Alex.

Later in the day this sandwich-size Dorado came onboard to give Chuck a little kiss. How sweet!

Another great day for the Explorer on May 5. Captain David led these clients to a nice bite of fish highlighted by this excellent Sailfish. Look at the colors on this beauty:

The group also put a trio of Dorados in the fishbox ensuring big smiles and full bellies. Very fruitful half-day trip on the Super Panga Explorer.

Scott Anderson booked the legendary Explorer on May 3 for an afternoon half day with excellent results. Captain David put the fiery Super Panga on the temperature break and they quickly brought in two Bonitas on the planer/spoon rig for use as strip bait.

Like clockwork at 1pm a hungry Sailfish couldn’t resist the fresh bonita strip skirted with a blue/pink C + H Lure.

Excellent release by Mate Carlos to ensure the safety of both fish and angler alike.

The Wanderer welcomed Mr. John Keep for a half-day excursion to the blue water and although the action was a little slow, this group persevered. They had one Sailfish in the spread early in the day and released him at 9:03am.

Careful with that tattoo…while it is a sweet looking Yellowfin Tuna, to the Sailfish it looks like breakfast!

The rest of the trip would prove slow, with only one Sailfish raised and no more releases. Still these clients had a great time and have the memory of a fantastic Sailfish release.

Susan and James Lewis have been burning the candle at both ends in Nosara this week. They fished on the Explorer, Adventurer, and Wanderer plus joined Javier for the exotic Horseback Mountain Tour.

The highlight of their fishing adventure was this massive Sailfish released with Captain William on the Wanderer. The winds were blowing hard and made offshore fishing a bit difficult, but the mighty blue beauty stood her ground against the wind and still managed to hook up this nice fish.

Great work by a fellow Jacksonville angler on the flagship Wanderer.
