FishingNosara Hall of Famer TJ Conrads returned to Nosara with his wife Robin along with Kevin and Karen Bahr. They chose the Wanderer and scored a boatload of sweet fish filets.
Captain William located a massive school of spinning porpoises and the fish were excited to escape the cetaceans…right into the flagship’s fishbox!
In all they scored six Yellowfin Tuna averaging 20lbs., three small Dorado and a nice 20lbs. Dorado.
Here is what Kevin posted on Facebook: “We went with Captain William and his assistant, Johnny. They were very professional and ready to ensure we had a successful outing on May 12. The weather was pretty sketchy but we were able to locate the fish and ended up with a freezer full of ahi and mahi mahi. We cut our day short due to the weather but our crew was willing to stay out longer if we wanted to. Despite the weather, it was a great day!“
The Wanderer welcomed Jason Matherne’s group and over a two-day span they put a hurting on the local Sailfish. Joined by Ed and Pat Harrington, this “Cajun Crew” could not be stopped
Looks like everyone got a shot at their own behemoth.
Nice fish-handling by Mate Johnson to see all these billfish safely released.
In addition to these monster trophy fish releases, the flagship also nabbed some straggling Dorados.
Here is what Patrick had to say in an email:
“Please pass on to everyone behind the scenes our thanks and gratitude. We (the husbands) had a killer time fishing with both Capt. William & Capt. Carlos … you too, Antonio! We look forward to another trip (the husbands) in the future.”
It’s the rainy season right now, but that didn’t stop Ron Lard and his team of Virginia-based anglers from braving the elements for three days, conquering a wide variety of inshore species.
Captain Alex and Mate Kevin performed fearlessly in the face of the rain, guaranteeing a fun, safe, productive run of trips.
Here’s what Mr. Lard wrote in an email:
Craig,
“Just wanted to let you know that my group and I (weather not withstanding) had a great time in Nosara. The housing was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Your staff was pleasant and took very good care off us.”
“Although the weather didn’t cooperate with our stay, Cpt. Alex and Kevin managed to get us out the three days and found fish.”
Paul Reynolds took a victory lap on July 29 as his last day of fishing yielded another fish-of-a-lifetime for this Winter Park angler.
The new FishingNosara visor must have lured up a big one…Check out this MASSIVE Cubera Snapper he snagged early in the day.
After the inshore success, Captain William pointed the blue beauty off shore for another stroll through Sailfish City.
Here’s what Paul had to say on Tripadvisor:
“What a great trip! I’m an avid fisherman in Florida and the Bahamas, but this blew all of my other trips away. Everyone from Craig (owner / booking) to Matt and all of the captains & crew were great.”
“We fished 3.5 days and caught 26 billfish, 5 dorado (one at 60 lbs) and 16 yellowfin tuna… not to mention the cubera snapper, amberjack and other inshore fish. We fished mostly on the Wanderer, Harvester and Explorer. All were great, but my favorites were Capt William & first Mate Johnny (Wanderer) and the Captain Alex with first mate Kevin (Harvester).”
“We fished mostly ballyhoo with circle hooks offshore and all crews knew how to fish. Almost every captain spoke English too… which really helps. My favorite was when we found some bonito and slow trolled them for the marlin, larger sailfish and inshore for cubera.”
“Don’t be fooled by the rainy season… it produces offshore as well. Rooster fish were very hard to find and may be better other seasons. I do not hesitate in recommending this group for a great fishing trip.”
“If you are looking to fish large sportfish boats with A/C…. this is not your trip. But if you want to catch the same quality and quantity of fish for 1/3 of the price… this is the trip. I can’t wait to book my next trip!”
“PS – lunch was included for our trips and was fantastic. Cooked by the local ladies and in classic Costa Rica style. Water and fresh fruit included too… just bring the beer, the sunscreen and the gopro / cameras!!”
Adrian Paredes and his group had a big day with Captain William reporting seven Sailfish release on their July 13 trip.
Nice work by Mate Johnson to keep these fights short and sweet leading to safe releases.
Check out this high-flyer:
Big fish above the water means big smiles on board!
Later on they moved inshore and nabbed two swole Cubera Snapper:
“Great day on the water. Dreams came true on our trip to Nosara.” wrote Adrian in and email. “Thank you Captain William and mate Johnny for putting us on 7 beautiful sailfish and two tasty cubera snapper. I can’t wait to go back!”
Mike Tuzio had a great day on the Explorer with Captain Fico reporting a fantastic Sailfish release.
“I just wanted to drop a line and tell you that we had an excellent time,” wrote Mike.
“We had one great sailfish release and another one threw the hook unfortunately but they guys did everything they could to put us on fish and we’re both a great help.”
The Harvester had the biggest day of her short career on January 27 with 11 Sailfish releses, including a Triple Hookup / Double release:
What a day for clients Greg Tilley along with Laura and Todd Horton…it certainly didn’t take Captain Alex long to get the Mega Panga dialed in!
Here’s what the clients wrote on Facebook:
“Fishing in Costa Rica is awesome! If you every get the chance…..GO!!!! We doubled up twice and tripled once. Caught a total of 20 sailfish on 30 bites. It takes a pretty good captain to get 3 sailfish to the boat at the same time and released”
“The first triple for thie Harvester. (landed and released all three fish) We also had two doubles (2nd & 3rd for Harvester)and the 1st time getting the 2 fish pictured together. Captain Alex and mate Kevin did an awesome job and I highly recommend them if you ever get to fish in Costa Rica.” – Greg Tilley
“Alex and Kevin are the ticket! Great captain and mate combo! Keep up the good work!” – Todd Horton
