Tasty sushi and filets coming up!
The Wanderer welcomed Drew Cooper and his group on the 28th for a fierce day of Sailfish action.
These ladies KO’d five nice Sailfish on this trip.
Great hunting by Captain William to keep these monsters cornered.
Add in four clean safe releases by Mate Johnson and you got the perfect day of fish-catching!
After warming up on Harvester and Explorer, Larry Komenda and Misti Nolan joined Ken and Brenda Russell. They returned to the Wanderer and they meant business!
First on the hook was this fat Wahoo…steaks all around!
Great catch by Larry Komenda:
This is a true floor-sweeper, evidenced by this photo of Mate Johnson trying to keep her off the deck.
Ken was next up on the reel and scored this sweet Sailfish release.
The ladies were up next and got acquainted with some real high-flyers.
They finished off the day with a fifth Sailfish release.
After a trip to the fish market, Laura and Mike headed offshore to find Sailfish City. Captain William led the way and the Wanderer proceeded to score big.
After the first two releases Mike Neeland added to his swollen Sailfish scorecard, and then Laura followed up with a nice fish of her own.
The big hit of the day with this small Striped Marlin; while not the biggest fish we’ve ever seen, this little Stripey still fought like a tiger.
Returning angler Laura Lanoue and her posse got their week of fishing off to a rollicking good start with some sweet Yellowfin Tuna scored on the Wanderer.
We always encourage our clients to fish on the first day because it’s always nice to get some filets in the fridge at the beginning of the week.
We expect Laura and Mike’s group to continue their excellent fishing this week.
The Wanderer‘s hot streak continued on March 14 with client Mark Foster notching the scorecard with several strong Sailfish releases.
Captain William is dialed-in and his clients are reaping the rewards.
Steve Gasaway and his family had a Texas-sized barrel of fun with Captain William on the Wanderer.
The whole family got into the act as the Sailfish were hungry and chomping!
Great fish handling by Mate Johnson to see all these beauties safely released.
Another landmark day for the mighty Wanderer.
Our old friend Roche joined Captain William on the Wanderer for some great Sailfish scores on March 12.
Roche is a surfing legend from Playa Avellenas and has fished with us since the beginning. It is a treat that he brought his family along this time.
Great work by the big blue beauty!
Scott Whitehead and his family had a sweet day on the Wanderer on March 11.
This Rooster fish release was a great start to the day, which also featured offshore action with high-flying Sailfish.
Safe releases by Mate Johnson as always.
“Captain William was great!” wrote Scott in an email, “2 Roosters and 4 Sail releases. Lost two sails as well so it would’ve been a huge day with those!”
FishingNosara Hall of Famers Ron LaGro and Catherine Chase rejoined the Wanderer for their annual blue water fishing adventure, and scored lots of big Sailfish on just a 5 hour half-day.
Catherine has a knack for battling big billfish, and she put on a catching clinic like usual.
Ron also brought home the bacon in the form of this football-sized Yellowfin Tuna.
