The Adventurer has been pushed harder and performed better than we ever expected and the credit is 100% due to the fearless Captian Carlos. On May 25 with client Andrew the pocket knife challenged a big-ass Marlin to a fight and gave her everything she could handle.

Though the fish broke off after about 30 minutes, we are convinced that it won’t be long till the powerful 23-footer conquers a big Marlin. As a consolation prize, they did manage to catch and release this beautiful Pacific Sailfish later in the day around 3:30pm

Great action from Captain Carlos and the secret weapon Adventurer!

John Baumgart is a returning Hall of Famer who last year boated multiple Sailfish and one of the biggest Snappers ever caught here. This week he has three trips planned and got things started with an excellent Sailfish release on the Wanderer.

Check out that old-school shirt. That is the first style we ever had (2008 I think) and it looks like it’s held up through a few fishing trips.

Great start to the week for John; Stay tuned as this Florida-based anglers continues his marine onslaught.

Our good friend TJ Conrads is back in Nosara and he couldn’t help but get back out on the blue water for some big billfish hunting. Remember that TJ joined us in November 2012 and had a double sailfish release on the flagship Wanderer…this time TJ was flying solo and opted for Captain Carlos on the 23-foot Adventurer.

We are pumped up to report that even on a smaller boat the results stayed the same as the master hunter released another Pacific Sail!

“What a fight!” TJ commented later. We look forward to seeing TJ in the future…the Sailfish community may be less excited.

After waylaying four Sailfish and a big Bull Dorado, Kevin Golden and his fellow Tampa anglers stayed inshore to try their hand at the strongest fish in the shallows: the Cubera Snapper!

This red monster engulfed a rigged live bait and the fight was on for Kevin…they grow ’em big in Tampa Bay but not this big! Even though this is a ‘small’ Snapper at 35lbs. it fought just as hard as its 80+lbs. brothers.

Nice smiles boys!

Kevin Golden has booked four trips on the mighty Wanderer this week and we expect for him to have a lights out performance. His first day certainly didn’t disappoint with four Sailfish releases.

Great work by First Mate Alex to safely release these fish, all while coordinating a photo shoot!

They backed up the trophy fish with a big Bull Dorado; the meanie greenies have been thick the last two weeks so look out for some big Mahi filets coming your way.

Rita and Stephen Greenberg of Naples, FL ushered in the Yellowfin Tuna season earlier this week on the Wanderer and today returned to take a trip to Sailfish City.

They had 9 Sailfish hit the baits on this trip as the mighty Wanderer caught and released 7 wonderful specimens.

Stephen’s Sailfish was especially high-flying. Let’s take a look at the digitally-zoomed version…see where this Sail didn’t even get to the bait before being hooks. This ballyhoo is just along for the wild ride.

Great work by the flagship and by the Greenbergs; only the most recent in a long line of great anglers who have come our way from the Sunshine State!

The Wanderer hosted the A-Team to today with Craig Sutton and Matty being joined by Nosara Paradise Rentals GM Javier Hernandez and security chief Eduardo Hernandez. The action got off to a quick start with this beefy Sailfish release.

Shortly after the release Eduardo got a big Dorado on the line and brought him all the way into the cooler. Estimated at 35lbs., this Mahi will definitely keep the farm fed for a while.

Eduardo has been part of our family since the beginning, yet we were shocked to learn that El Gato has only fished inshore prior to this trip. Great results from what we hope is the first of many trips offshore to the blue water.

The Wanderer welcomed Craig Sutton and Matty on May 16 for one of the rare occasion of the US Office fishing without any other guests. First Mate Alex and Captain William were joined by Junior Mate Hernan for a trip to the blue water that yield a trio of nice Sailfish releases, plus a bit of dinner for the fishbox.

First Mate Alex stayed busy with all these Sailfish releases, plus it was a great learning opportunity for Junior Mate Hernan to see how the pros do it.

After the Sailfish bite the Wanderer hooked-up a pair of Dorados; Craig boated the smaller one (25lbs.) quickly and easily:

With the cow in the box, Matty fought the Bull Dorado for about 10 more minutes until the fish reared it’s head just enough for Alex to get a gaff shot:

Three great Sailfish releases and filets on ice…just another outstanding day on the flagship Wanderer.

May 15, 2013

Craig Sutton was joined by Paula, Matty, and Alejandro for an afternoon of fishing on the Wanderer on May 15. Captain William gathered the intellegence from Captain David on the Explorerย that a large ‘mancha’ (school) of spinning dolphin were in the area feasting on Yellowfin Tuna.

The team worked this school together as First Mate Alex and Craig tossed poppers from the foredeck while Paula and Alejandro went to work in the cockpit. Captain William and Captain David worked together to keep the fish corralled so that both boats would have maximum chances at success.
