Brock Liebreich and his wife had a picture-perfect day of trophy fish releases on the Wanderer. They started out their full day trip with this wonderful Rooster Fish release less that 5 miles from shore:

Captain William then set offshore and found Sailfish City to be teeming with fired-up Sailfish.

They notched seven Sailfish releases throughout the trip. Check out this high-flyer:

The action stayed hot all afternoon long:

Great hunting by Captain William and excellent fish handling by First Mate Alex.

On February 5 Craig Sutton joined the Wanderer with the goal of replicating the prior day’s Cubera Snapper success.

The offshore gear stayed stowed as Craig dropped a live blue runner to the reef on a Penn 760 Slammer. This monster Cubera ascended to the surface to maul the frightened bait, and the fight was on!

Amazing fish for Craig which may only be bested by his previous Hall of Fame Cubera catches:

The Explorer welcomed Ohio anglers Kevin and Mary Ann Dineen for a landmark day of fish harvesting.

This foursome of fishermen got down to business quickly, with each party member scoring a Dorado early in the trip.

Then the monster Dorado came calling!

After this wad of Mahi-Mahi’s on ice, it’s easy to think that the Explorer would call it a day…but that ain’t how the barroom brawler gets down!

The final fish of the day was a MASSIVE Wahoo:

I think we need a bigger cooler…Amazing that this monster’s tail is almost still in the water!

Easily the biggest Wahoo of the year, this monster might weigh north of 70lbs.

Sheesh, the picture weighs 5 pounds!

Great work by the unstoppable Explorer!

Captain David on the Discoverer has been on a tear all month. Along with trusty Mate Juan Carlos the new battleship has scored victories on a wide array of Marlin and Sailfish. plus added lots of good eating fish for the filet bag.

This Marlin was a feisty fighter, clean released as usual by Mate Juan Carlos. The Sailfish have been coming into the spread in droves and Captain David has capitalized big time.ย

Finally, check out the girth on these Dorados and the numbers of these Tunas:

Great work by Captain David!

We got a great note from Becky once she got back to Florida:
“Cant wait to tell you all about the trip.ย  William and Alex will always be number one to us…..just way too much fun in a week!!ย  We finally captured the elusive rooster fish, the morning Andy was on his way to the airport….laughed about that!”

“Have some great underwater shots we took with the gopro too!ย  Total count for the week is 21 sails released (could have been more, but we targeted Marlin our last day with four teasers and one big lure…..no Marlin but no worries…….too much fun trying!)”ย

“The second day we fished and released 10 sails (once again, if we wanted more it would have been no problem, but we wanted to enjoy one fish at a time because Alexa and Crystian had never done it).ย  We did reel up a double with Andy and Minton because we could!ย  Best family vacation ever!”
