Jason Lilley and his family released a pair of Sailfish on the Wanderer:
It’s great to see youngsters getting this close to the action, and Mrs. Lilley also got her feet wet with a nice Sailfish of her own.
Great family fishing by the mighty Wanderer.
The Wanderer always has another trick up her sleeve…a 2.5 hour sunset trip is not enough time to go scare up a billfish, right?
Wrong! She scored this awesome Sailfish release and was still back in Garza in time for dinner. Great work by the flagship!
Javier led several great fishing campaigns at the Nosara River mouth this month, and has begun to explorer up the river and into the surf via Kayak.
Javier managed to snag this little Mangrove before it escaped into the weeds.
He also scored a nice Ciero Mackeral out past the breakers.
Of course the Rio is thriving with a wide array of creatures, including this family of brightly colored crabs.
The highlight of the month was an awesome Snook scored by our new friend Don Anglin. This hardcore shore angler serves as the Northern California Coordinator for Heroes on the Water, which is one of our favorite organizations.
His Snook hunt began in Tamarindo (70 miles north of us) and he worked his way south looking for the perfect fishing spot; his emails to Craig during his odyssey are priceless as he battled rains, limp bait, and his own traveling party weariness of the journey.
Finally, he got hooked up with this MASSIVE Snook under Javier’s careful tutelage:

I know you must be a busy man with everything going on here, so thanks so much for answering all my questions before and during my stay in Nosara.ย I think I made a life time friend of Javier, defiantly my kind of fisherman and guy… needs work on the kayak surf landings though…Lol!!!ย wish I has film rolling on that one, but hey, happens to the best of us… he also still kicked my butt fishing, so he has last laugh…
Love my New Fishing Nosara Hat!!!ย Guys are already hitting me up about coming down to Nosara after some postings I have been doing… I’ll send your way or come back with them…

There were other great scores from the river mouth this month:
Manual nailed this big daddy Permit (above) plus a Queen Snapper, while the famous Rasta scored this big Snook:

Thomas Matthews and his family suffered a few lost fish on their inshore half day on July 31, but the mighty Wanderer knows how to bounce back from a tough start.
Late in the trip, Mrs. Matthews hooked up a monster and put on a clinic for the girls.

Great day on the Wanderer for client Thomas DuPuis, who scored a pair of excellent Sailfish.
Captain William always finds the route to Sailfish City, and First Mate Alex is accustomed to sweeping the streets for Sails. Great hunting and great releases by the mighty Wanderer!
Dominic Licari brought his hard-fishin’ crew down from West Palm Beach, FL and they logged three solid days of fishing on the mighty Wanderer.
The highlight of their trips came on June 24:
This Blue Marlin is estimated at 400lbs. and she put up everyone ounce of fight she could muster.
This South Florida team also notched a pair of Sailfish releases, backed up by a few nice Yellowfin Tunas.

Another rare and elusive Queen Snapper was scored by the Super panga Explorer! These tasty critters only come through our area once every few seasons so we are pumped to have these in the spread.
Great work by Captain Carlos and the fearless Explorer.
The infamous Wanderer struck again on July 20! Clients Sebastien and Rene Bire took the blue beauty offshore for a 5 hour trip and scored a MASSIVE Blue Marlin!
The combinations of Captain William’s expert boat handling and First Mate Alex’ angler coordination in the cockpit spelled doom for this mighty billfish.
Released alive and well after the photos, this Blue Monster is certainly the fish of a lifetime for the Bire posse.
“This fishing trip was my first and it was amazing, got surrounded by almost 500 dolphins at first and then they got us at the right spot to bring out a 450pound Blue marlin! The team was really nice and the boat was perfect. Amazing day out, thanks FishingNosara!”
Captain Carlos has been very active on the Explorer with excellent catches of Rock Snapper, Yellowfin Tuna and Cubera Snapper.
The Explorer consistently proves that you don’t need a big boat to catch big fish in Costa Rica.
