Captain Fico on the super panga Explorer set the table for a New Year’s feast with these big Dorado scores on January 2.
That’s what I call a tasty start to 2017!
Our new buddy Greg Patts whipped some fish butt on the Super Panga Explorer over a three day span. On November 29 he nabbed a nice Dorado, perfect to gnaw on for theย week.
Then on the 30th and 1st he extend his trips to full days so they could head offshore and hunt blue water beasties. Check out these sweet Sailfish releases:
Awesome work by Captain Fico and Mate Elias to deliver the goods!
David Little joined Captain Fico on the Explorer for a fun day featuring a wide array of catches.
After this bulky Jack Crevalle hit the icebox, they nabbed this excellent tasting Ciero Mackeral:
Late in the trip Mr. Little scored a football-sized Yellowfin Tuna to round out his filet bag.
Three nice specimens of three tasty species…all in a days’ work for the Super Panga!
The Explorer plumbed the inshore reefs for a pair of tasty dinner-time scores…the first was this excellent Cubera Snapper:
Then they followed up with a beefy Broomtail Grouper. Great work by Captain Fico and teh barroom brawler Explorer.
ย
Captain Fico welcome client Stephen Johnson for a memorable half-day on the Explorer.
They scored a pair of dinner-table worthy Yella Fellas to start the morning, then nabbed this excellent Sailfish release:
Great work by Captain Fico on the hunting and by Mate Elias on the safe release.
There has been a nice school of Yellowfin Tuna in town this week, and while the bigger boats went off-shore and found 30+lbs. Yellas, the Explorer stayed near to shore and nabbed a trio of 10-15lbs. specimens.
Remember that the smaller Yellowfin Tuna actually yield denser meat, and once again the Explorer proves her prowess in filling the fishbox.
They also scored a late-day Sailfish release to round out a great day of fishing:
The Explorer stayed inshore with client Phillip Kan on the 7th and scored beautiful Rooster Fish releases. These are some monster fish, but our Penn Slammer 7500 spinning reels are up to the task:
Of course we safely release these beauties after the photo-op, but the memories last a lifetime.
Nothing says “Welcome back to the water” like a tasty Grouper. The Explorer nabbed this tasty Broomtail Grouper on the first day of the new season.
A good sign for what will be a great season!
The Explorer made a brief return to the water with client Justin Lincoln for a three-day fishing adventure.
The super panga performed brilliantly with Mate Elias welcoming Juan Carlos to the helm, on loan from the Discoverer.
In addition to some excellent Sailfish action, they also nabbed some tasty Yellowfin Tuna for the fishbox:
Great work by Justin Lincoln and the Explorer!
The Explorer welcomed Patrick Wiles for a fun day of offshore action which yielded a pair of sweet Sailfish releases.
This high-flyer was no match for the barroom brawler!
Great work on these billfish releases by Captain Fico and Mate Elias, who are still fishing hard in this so-called ‘off season’
